Lead Anthos GKE Engineer

We are seeking a remote Lead Cloud Operations Engineer with expertise in Anthos GKE and Google Cloud Platform to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in transforming systems to the cloud, enabling cost optimization, improving availability and reliability through architectural enhancements, and facilitating further analytics and improved Time to Market (TTM) for our client. The successful candidate will contribute to the migration of a substantial amount of work and projects to our team, showcasing expertise in Kubernetes and GKE.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation of systems to the cloud, ensuring cost optimization and improved availability and reliability
  • Contribute to architectural improvements to enable further analytics and enhanced Time to Market (TTM)
  • Migrate a substantial amount of work and projects to the team, showcasing expertise in Kubernetes and GKE
  • Collaborate with the onsite team to articulate and grasp ideas effectively
  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as code automation using Terraform or CloudFormation, Deployment Manager (GCP), Plum
  • Oversee configuration management using Ansible or other related tools
  • Manage and optimize CI/CD processes using Jenkins or similar tools

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • 1+ year of relevant leadership experience
  • Proven experience with Anthos GKE and Google Cloud Platform
  • Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes and hands-on experience with GCP services
  • Experience in Infrastructure as code automation with Terraform or CloudFormation, Deployment Manager (GCP), Plum
  • Proficiency in scripting with hands-on Terraform and Ansible experience
  • Expertise in configuration management using Ansible or other related tools
  • Experience in CI/CD using Jenkins or similar tools, with a focus on managing pipelines, branches, and CI/CD Workflow usage
  • Strong English language skills, both spoken and written, for effective communication with the onsite team (B2+ level)
Nice to have
  • Experience with Lift & Shift projects is a significant advantage
  • Knowledge of Ansible Tower for enterprise-level management and automation
