About the role and what you will be doing:
- Provide premium MQ system programming support and services to Ensono mainframe clients.
- The successful candidate will perform mainframe MQ software - system administration tasks and tuning to support our customers' MQ environments. The individual will need to work with vendor personnel to achieve timely solutions of MQ related problems. Work on full spectrum of MQ Systems Programming activities including MQ administration

- Collaborates with other teams to ensure MQ systems are properly integrated with other mainframe and distributed systems.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure MQ region reliability
- Expertise in administrating, alert setup and monitoring the message process using tools like MQ explorer, Omegamon for MQ, Sysview, etc. Perform MQ system problem analysis and resolution
- Define and Manage MQ objects.
- Skilled at executing IBM MQ utilities to handle the MQ queue messages(backup, deleting a particular records etc..)
- Define and Maintain the pagesets & bufferpool according to the application growth in MQ
- Able to capture dump with trace to vendor and identify root cause and recommend appropriate solutions
- Knowledge on the MQ queue sharing and MQ clustering to handle the queue managers and its components.
- Expertise in daily health check and dead letter queue process automation
- Maintain MQ DR Plans. Support Disaster Recovery Tests
- Maintain MQ SOPs, Runbooks and other documentation.
- Good understanding of messaging interfaces and connections to the IBM other products (such as CICS, DB2, IMS..) and third party application servers.
- Perform MQ online monitoring, investigate MQ CPU usage using SMF statistics analyze
- Provide 24×7 after hours on-call support as required for products supported by the team
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to support requests from multiple clients
- Must be able to multi-task and work under short deadlines and in high pressure situations.
Good to have skills:
- Knowledge with MQSeries and MQClients on distributed platforms
- Knowledge Mainrame zOS, JCL, VSAM, ISPF and REXX
- Familiarity with CICS connections
- IBM and ISV Vendor Coordination for Ticketing Incidents/Problems, SW downloads, Escalations
- Knowledge of external security (RACF & CA-Top Secret) as related to MQ
