In this position, you will be an essential member of our team and support new product development. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to build complex EWAS data analysis pipelines and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop platforms and pipelines for translational research in epigenetics
  • Design and develop software to address novel analytical challenges and to automate established analysis pipelines
  • Process, integrate, and analyze biological datasets to reveal insights that enable testable hypotheses
  • Run ontology analysis in methylation studies
  • Analyze public and proprietary methylation arrays.
  • Fluency in R and Bioconductor is essential, secondary scripting languages are a plus (e.g python/perl)
  • Clearly communicate complex results to an audience consisting of scientists and people without a scientific background
  • Stay up-to-date with novel bioinformatics tools through literature review and computational experiments
  • Contribute to a team of translational researchers committed to improving health
  • Place a priority on getting results with an emphasis on high quality outcomes
  • Display a willingness to challenge the status quo and take risks
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency that drives performance beyond expectation


Requirements:
  • PhD or Masters in Bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics or a related field
  • Experience with bioinformatics infrastructure, automation, and software engineering
  • 3+ years of experience managing and mentoring bioinformatic scientists in academia or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong quantitative skills in analyzing high dimensional OMICs datasets with an emphasis on methylation data.
  • Strong foundations in statistical analysis of methylation and other omics data
  • Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, interpret and communicate complex data
  • Experience with cloud computing such as AWS
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems using critical thinking and a range of bioinformatics tools
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge of current pathway and interactome data available for integration and analysis (Reactome, Gene Ontology, IntAct, STRING, STITCH, and others) is desirable
  • Experience evaluating methylation data sources and quality for research
  • Working knowledge of public databases such as GEO and ArrayExpress
