Welder - 1st Shift
Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Welder - 1st Shift.
The rate for this position is $22.83 per hour. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm.

What you'll do:
The Welder is responsible for operating Robotic Welding equipment and the Tangent Bender according to established SOP/VOP procedures to ensure a quality product is delivered to customers. Responsibilities include welding various metal joints and intersections using steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Work includes welding racks, blocks, and other miscellaneous components as required, using both TIG and MIG wire-feed welding processes.
The Welder must have working knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used to produce precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. The role requires prompt, efficient work with a strong focus on quality. Duties are performed using catalog numbers and production reports. The position requires use of welding equipment and material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, overhead hoists, and various air and hand tools.
Annual Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and General Electrical Safety training is required. All work must be performed safely to prevent injuries. Any on-the-job injuries, unsafe acts, or unsafe conditions must be reported to the Supervisor.
- Work performed in Bottom Weld, Tangent Bender, and Cover Weld areasOperation of robotic welding work cells, including Fanuc ARC Mate 100i with ArcTool software and R-J2 controller
- Start-up, changeover, and shutdown of robotic welding and tangent bender operations
- Teaching and adjusting robot programs when tank size changes require updates
- Completion of internal forklift certification and hoist/crane training
- Visual inspection of welding torch and wire feeder; cleaning wire feed at shift start
- Review of required PPE condition and replacement as needed
- Operation and adjustment of welding equipment to maintain weld quality
- Production of quality welds in accordance with company standards
- Achievement of daily production goals
- Performance of weld touch-ups when required
- Training of new operators as needed
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Welding Diploma from an accredited one-year program.
- The degree must clearly show hands-on welding experience in all four welding positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead on both structural steel and pipe. The degree must also show that welds were tested and met quality standards required by the American Welding Society (AWS) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). In addition, the degree must show training in welding processes and basic skills in reading and sketching blueprints.
