Sr. Custom Order Engineer (El Paso, TX)
Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Sr. Custom Order Engineer in El Paso, TX.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. What you'll do:
The Senior Customer Order Engineer (Switchboards) is responsible for engineering customer orders including detailed review of layout and application of equipment, control schematics, wiring and component selection, component layout and modeling using 3D cad software, and supports various phases of order management from initial engineering review thru production shipment.
In this position you will:
- Verify that complete and accurate order entry information has been received for incoming switchboard orders.
- Prepare Manufacturing Information (MI) for switchboards, utilizing Bid Manager, AutoCAD, and Plant Order Manager.
- Develop control schematic drawings, BOMs and components.
- Support engineering function by providing directions to team members per Engineering spreadsheets, UL standards and NEC in interpreting complex customer requirements and translating them into manufacturable switchboard designs.
- Identify and design special fabricated parts required using ACAD and 3-D modeling systems (Auto-Desk Inventor, etc.), ensuring that MI's are completed and the material is routed accordingly to the appropriate assembly team.
- Interface with customers, channel partners, Field-Sales, and EatonCare through participation in plant visits, training support and customer events.
- Provide input to Product Line development teams on design and pick table enhancements.
- Support and assist assembly teams in resolution of process and/or information quality problems.
- Support Satellite Plants thru design review and product implementation.
- Mentor entry level Mechanical Engineers and designers in support of Eaton Switchboards.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience within a Panelboard and Switchboard manufacturing facility
• Minimum 2 years of experience processing data center orders

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Experience with AutoCAD software
• Experience with Eaton systems: VISTA, Bid Manager, AS-400, ENOVIA & DMM
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated technical and application knowledge of switchboards
• Demonstrated proficiency in verbal & written communications, organizational & computer skills
