Specialist-Data Engineering -IT
Job Summary
The Specialist - Data Engineering, will be responsible for providing leadership for Data and Analytics projects across Eaton Enterprise programs driving direction and continuous improvement. Integration and Data Management (IDM) team comprises of experienced resources (full time employees and contractors) who work on a broad range of business critical programs in Data and analytics domain which require data to be integrated across systems or consolidated within various enterprise data warehouses/repositories in addition to analytics and visual reporting capabilities . The candidate should have a solid grounding in IT process, excellent technical acumen, strong business process knowledge, and the curiosity and drive to consistently deliver results that leverage and improve upon existing standards and best practices. The candidate must be highly self-motivated with strong communication skills and the ability to guide others in ambiguous situations. In addition, candidate will be responsible for technical evaluation, discovery and POC for onboarding of new technologies and tools to address the business need and/or improve the overall productivity of team.
What you'll do:
• Leads development, build, and test scenrios for data solutions to deliver business value while meeting quality & technical requirements
• Accountable for end-to-end delivery of source data acquisition, complex transformation and orchestration pipelines, AI/ML engineering, and front-end visualization
• Strong communication and presentation skills ; Leading collaboration directly with business stakeholders to deliver rapid, incremental business value/outcomes
Your essential responsibilities include:
• Leads collaboration across complex arrays of people, technology and environments
• Manages and develops robust data solutions aligned to prescribed quality measures (availability, completeness, accuracy, etc.)
• Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and, non-functional requirements and enterprise technology and data protection standards

• Build infrastructure and data pipelines required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of sources
• Deploy complex eneterprise solutions to a wide range of data technology patterns and platforms
• Design, Engineer and orchestrate datasets with scale, supportability and reusability at the forefront of design
• Demonstrate and document solutions by using flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, data lineage, and technical and business metadata
• Partner with senior business stakeholders, functional analysts, and data scientists to ensure solutions meet or exceed requirements
• Preferred business and functional knowledge in Engineering, Digital, Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 domain
• Problems may not well defined and sufficient information may not be available. Requires conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and their implications.
• Implementation of solutions often requires a longer term view, consideration of multiple perspectives, and understanding of future impact.
Qualifications:
Graduate Degree in Comp Science / Mathematics / Engineering / Equivalent.
10+ years of relevant industry experience in data engineering, snowflake, Palantir(Preferred) and data visualization using power BI.
Skills:
Advanced experience with one or more data storage and processing technologies (data lake, warehouse, timeseries, graph) on prem as well as Cloud. Snowflake and Azure.
Intermediate ability to interact with batch (ETL/ELT) and on-demand (API, SQL) data integration methodologies
Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data storage (object, database) and processing (Spark, MPP warehouse, containers) technologies
Experience with dimensional (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault) and transactional (3rd normal form) data modeling using OLTP, OLAP, NoSQL and Big Data technologies
Advanced programming ability in multiple data manipulation languages (Python, Scala, SQL, PL-SQL)
Intermediate data visualization experience in one or more technologies (e.g., Power BI, Grafana, R, Python) to create interactive analytics solutions
Advanced experience developing and supporting data pipelines, inclusive of code, orchestration, quality and observability
Intermediate experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD principles and tools
Conveys complex information and persuades diverse audiences.
Frequently advises others on complex matters.
