Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Eaton's IS VEH Technology division is currently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. This is a full time, on-site position based at our Southfield, MI facility.
The Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for all aspects and functions related to shipping and receiving including but not limited to; re-enforcement of processes and procedures as they relate to shipping/receiving, safety in the shipping process and area, data collection, data reporting, data storage, packaging and shipment services for Non Prototype domestic and foreign shipments including mail and internal delivery of received packages.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $42000 - $62000 a year.

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
What you'll do:
- Supports shipping and receiving department including but not limited to; processes/procedures (Safety and Operation), data collection and reporting, data storage, and receiving/ shipment/ delivery of product and material, including mail.
- Provide shipping/receiving coverage and support during core business hours (typically 7:30 am - 3:30 pm) and overtime hours as necessary on short notice.
Operation of Southfield Eaton Fork trucks will be required as part of this responsibility after completing training, evaluation and issuance of Operator license. - Must be able and willing to consistently take responsibility to professionally communicate with their immediate team, other Eaton employees, and vendors.
- Familiar with freight standards for both domestic and foreign receipt and shipment. Works closely with Shipping and Receiving Lead to keep up to date with all Mobility and Corporate contracts governing shipments.
- Responsible for working with EHS department to assure any shipping/receiving requirements related to worldwide Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) are followed. This includes executing those requirements to ensure seamless handling and delivery of products, components, chemicals, and potential hazardous materials.
- Candidate functions as facility contact person for SDS information pertaining to all chemicals entering the campus and notifying the person responsible for entry of material SDS information into the 3E system.
- Process incoming/outgoing mail, including distribution of mail to internal mailboxes throughout the site.
- Occasional trips to the local United Sates Post office may be needed.
- Will have the responsibility of maintaining mailbox labels and areas.
- Responsible for supporting or initiating any Non-prototype Southfield outbound shipments to approved carriers (with support from Shipping and Receiving Lead) and working with Shipping and Receiving Lead as necessary on any Non-Prototype foreign shipments to minimize errors that can cause delays and extra charges.
- Responsible for all documentation related to incoming shipments and any outgoing shipments initiated by candidate and for the accurate and timely (daily) entry of required information into the appropriate electronic tracking, shipping and storage systems per accounting and finance policy including but not limited to Oracle. This includes semi-autonomous 'receipt' of goods in Oracle based upon generated PO Receipts.
- Responsible for inventory and stocking of office supplies, print areas, and tool room throughout the site as needed and throughout scheduled walkthroughs.
- As a member of the Facilities Team the candidate will be cross trained to help provide general support to the Facilities Team as needed during special events such as 5S and large meeting conference room set-up and tear-down.
- Act as a proxy for the Shipping and Receiving Lead, as needed.
- Support Shipping and Receiving lead for entering Oracle Requests into the system for corporate groups to process.

Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a Shipping/Receiving related role
- Valid US driver's license

- No relocation is available for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Southfield, MI. (Active Duty Military service members are exempt from this geographical limitation).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree from an accredited institution
- Forklift operation experience
- ISO14001 knowledge
- Previous working experience in Oracle (shipping, receiving and purchasing request entry)
Skills:
- Strong problem solving and professional communication skills are required to work through any shipping/receiving issues not limited to; mislabeled inbound shipments, outbound shipments missing information and delivery interaction with drivers and vendors
