Senior Systems Engineer
What you'll do:
Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. As a standalone company, the Mobility business will be more focused and agile, creating exciting opportunities for employees to grow, innovate, and help shape the future of mobility. The separation reflects strong confidence in the Mobility team and positions the new company as an employer of choice in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
This position is a individual contributor role part of Vehicle - Systems engineering team developing EV, AMT Transmissions systems solutions for commercial vehicles. Incumbent being a member of the System engineering team is responsible to support on system engineering work packages using Model Based Systems Engineering principles for multiple new product development projects. The role contributes towards the engineering work package for stage gate process. Expectations from the role is to support the development of system architecture and define the detailed requirements including functional safety requirements confirming to ISO26262 and Cybersecurity requierments confirming to ISO21434 independently for automotive system. The role will contribute to design and development of unique system architectures and contribute to innovation, IP generation. This role will support multiple projects related to Transmission products.
Qualifications:
Master's in electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics engineering with industry experience of over 3 to 5 years or Bachelors in electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics engineering with industry experience of over 5 to 7 years and good exposure to engineering research / analysis / product design / System Engineering in multi-disciplinary areas of auto / aero / hydraulic / electrical domain is essential.
'+7 years of experience with multinational engineering organization
Exposure to AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ISO21434, ASPICE standards, IBM Jazz Tools, Vector Tools such as CANape and CANalyzer and MATLAB/Simulink tools.

Skills:
1 Support the system engineering work packages and technical solutions for the existing and new product development projects.
2 Support system level detailed requirements for EV, AMT systems, subsystems and components to meet system level performance, EMI/ EMC and reliability. Model based requirements synthesis for the transmission products.
3. Designs product for cost, reliability, safety and security in collaboration with mechanical, hardware, software, team. Deploys the right methods to define interfaces and deploys the best practices to manage interfaces.
4 Adopts analysis first approach and first-time right approach to develop the Transmission products.
5 Collaborates with validation teams to build test cases and write test procedures.
6 Utilizes the DFSS methodology and tools. Develops System-FMEA to ensure design robustness. Contributes to continued enhancement of architecture to support additional product features.
7 Good understanding of digital validation tools and techniques to predict performance of products including flow and thermal simulations, control systems, system architecture, system modeling and tools, Six Sigma (DFSS) expertise.Good understanding of TCU, Powertrains(Controller architecture, sensor usage and analysis) would be added advantage.
8 Good understanding of function safety(FuSa) line items like HARA, FSR, and FSC etc, and independently derive the TSR(Technical safety requirements).
9 Good understanding FTA(Fault tree analysis), and able prepare failure list in different product lines in MD/HD transmission basebox.
- Able to dissect a system into logical components by function and or feature.
- (Required) Able to identify critical interdependencies between systems and or components.
- Experience with ISO 26262 and/or ASPICE standards.
- Experience with Agile Development Processes.
- Mechanical/Electrical simulation or design experience.
- Experience with IBM Jazz Tools.
- Experience with AUTOSAR framework.
- Experience with Vector Tools such as CANape and CANalyzer
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink tools.
- Experience with ISO21434 Cybersecurity Standard
10, Experience with AI based Req writing and management tools would be added advantage.
