Eaton's Electrical Sector, a global leader in providing innovative electrical solutions, is currently seeking a Senior IT Analyst to join the team. This is an onsite role with approximately 10% travel, based at our Edmonton, AB facility.

Eaton's Edmonton Power Centre (EPC) is our Canadian Manufacturing Facility that specializes in custom configurations of low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage motor control centres, and coordination centre for our Integrated Power Centre (E-House) offering.

EPC creates custom product configurations, designs transition sections to replace outdated equipment, configures solutions for retrofit challenges, and manufactures unique front-access low and medium voltage switchgear solutions. The expected annual salary range for this role is $82000 - $102000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

This role will provide end user support, support device lifecycle management, and ensure compliance with all of Eaton's policies and procedures with minimal supervision. Our customers include all of Eaton's users (local and remote) including the executive leadership team.

Essential Functions:

Hardware, Software, and Systems Support: Deployment, configuration, and support of hardware, client operating systems, and productivity software for end users. Hardware support includes online PCs, PC Peripherals, PC non-networked, OT Systems (I4.0), Hand Scanners, MFD Printers, Label Printers, plotters, switches, wireless access points, Virtual Machines, UPS, R&D Labs, and Mobile Phones etc. Assist with support of site-based IT systems and provide input on IT processes to support the manufacturing equipment. Participation in after hours on call rotations. Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of larger IT issues. Assist in efforts related to root cause analysis and problem management as needed. Ability to lead a technical team with minimal supervision and draw conclusion from complex data sets to improve a metric or effort. Present solutions and drive the improvement from data analysis.

IT Governance, Standards, and Compliance: Follow IT Service Management (ITSM) processes: asset management, change management, incident management, request management, problem management, and project management to serve end users and maintain high levels of performance in achieving service level agreements. Lead IT peers and influence customers to drive IT standards. Advocate, influence, and assure compliance with IT standards and policies. Liaison between IT and users to drive IT standards. Share information about standards, policies and best practices with end users to increase user satisfaction. Participate in internal audits related to IT processes, procedures, software, and systems. Adhere to company policies and procedures always, including, but not limited to: ethics, data protection, information security, human resources, and compliance policies and procedures. Protect both Eaton's physical and information assets.

Business Continuity and Risk Assessment: Participate and update in the annual refresh of IT disaster recovery plan, as well as walkthrough of plan with stakeholders if required. Identify opportunities for improvement (e.g. 5S - clean workplace initiative). Participate in the Inventory, Risk Assessment & Profit Planning Process.

Cross-Functional Initiatives: Participate in application, infrastructure, security, operational excellence initiatives, and support activities as needed.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • College diploma or University degree in IT or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 4 years' IT experience
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITIL) - Asset Management, Incident Management, Request Fulfilment, Problem Management, and Change Management
  • Sound working knowledge and application of MS Windows Operating Systems
  • Sound working knowledge and application of MS Office Suites
  • Technical knowledge and application of various hardware - PC's, laptops, mobile devices, PC peripherals
  • Working knowledge of other IT infrastructure (network, servers, storage, phone systems)
  • Working knowledge of miscellaneous equipment used in manufacturing locations such as bar code scanners, specialized printers, industrial PCs, RF Scanners, etc.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation provided. This role requires working onsite at our Edmonton, AB office.

  • Experience leading IT initiatives across the organization
