Senior Hardware Design Engineer - Power Electronics (UPS)

What you'll do:

Support Design & Development of products such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), micro data centers, and server racks, and create product BOM in SAP and release for manufacturing. Responsible for customized solutions, lias with sales and customers for design approval.To Be Quality concious during the design inception stage to ensure reliability and consistency in delivering results. Work on VAVE/ Feature addition as well as Quality improvement projects on the products, Localization support and validation is also included.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Application engineering for tender compliance and customer requirements.
2. Customize UPS designs ensuring adherence to IEC/BIS/UL and applicable standards.
3. Understand product/project specifications and convert requirements into design using calculations, modeling & simulations.
4. Design systems/equipment ensuring reliability, manufacturability, testing standards, material and cost guidelines.
5. Prepare & validate design documents: configurations, principles of operation, application guidelines, specs, BOM, SLD drawings.
6. Prepare test plans, improvement plans, tender compliance documents as per IEC/BIS standards.
7. Verify functional performance of prototype hardware under all specified conditions.
8. PCBA design, schematic development and support sourcing team during product localization.
9. Identify alternate components, lead validation & qualification for localization and cost reduction.
10. Support manufacturing at factory/vendor sites.
11. Create and document functional test requirements; conduct tests per UL/IEC; support FATs.
12. Coordinate with system engineering and program/product/project managers continuously.
13. Travel as required.

1. BE/ B.Tech.
2. Minimum 5+ years of power electronics design.
3. Testing experience in UPS/ industrial drives.

1. Experience with AUTOCAD/E-Plan and MATLAB/Simulink.
2. Knowledge of IEC 62040- 1/2/3 compliance requirements and applicable BIS standards.
3. Knowledge of DFMEA & PFMEA methodologies and ability to use 7 QC tools to identify failure modes and support effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
4. Strong knowledge of UPS, drive control systems- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics and technical documentation.
6. Provide Engineering support in creating manufacturing processes on New/VAVE/Custom solution products.
7. Support to Identify/ Develop new vendors for the Localization projects.
8. Well conversed in ECN/ECO process.
9. Manufacturing Industry Exposure like Fabrication/ Machining and molding.
10. Work Collaborate within Functional team and Cross functional team for the project deliverables.
11. Good communication and Presentation skills and Project handling with cross funcitonal interaction.
