Senior Engineer - IP
What you'll do:
The incumbent is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing IP and technology intelligence practices across one or more Eaton businesses. S/he is expected to provide technology and product insights and recommendations through technical/competitive intelligence and contribute to IP strategy for various programs in the organization.
"• She / He is expected to share reports / insights within the organization on trends and highlight whitespace for solution development.
• Contribute to developing IP strategy and technology roadmaps for programs globally by working in close coordination with research and product teams.
• Independently conduct various prior art searches (Landscapes, patentability, Freedom-to-Operate, patent validity/invalidity assessment) using open and specialized patent and literature databases.
• Conduct patent landscape/watch analysis, identifying the trend of the competitors and/or emerging technologies, whitespace and developing IP strategy to protect & commercialize key technologies.
• Working knowledge in creating competitive and technology intelligence reports which includes technology, market and IP perspectives.
• Understand mega-trends and proactively identify and communicate relevant disruptive trends that enable timely informed decision making.
• Possess ability to influence and drive people / activities on complex technical issues.
• Possess strong report and technical writing skills. She / he should be a good communicator and should be able to drive results working in multi-disciplinary teams.
• He/She should be expected to be well versed in technologies related to Electrical, Power electronics, More electric Aircraft etc. "
Qualifications:
Masters / Bachelors (Power Electronics/ Power System/ Electronics)
7+ years experience in Intellectual property and technology intelligence practices.
Skills:
Electrical / Power Systems / Controls Engineering / Power Electronics with experience in Intellectual property
Effective Communicator, Collaborative orientation, Strategic Agility, Drive for results, Problem Solving
