Senior Engineer Digital Design
What you'll do:
The primary function of the role is to contribute to digital design technology development and implementation for the RDE function of the organization. Senior Engineer will provide technical mentorship to the engineers and help the leads to drive DD capability development to support Digital Engineering strategy - AI in Engineering, AI for Design and Analysis. The person is expected to collaborate with cross functional technology team within DE CoE, enterprise engineering and global teams to deploy impactful digital design solutions. The senior engineer will also support AI based explorations and drive structured execution of digital design projects.
"Job responsibilities would include:
1. Must have hands-on experience/in-depth knowledge in AI/ML technology/tools and should be able to support on capability development programs in the area of advanced AI / ML techniques in Engineering such as: Scientific Machine Learning, Generative AI, Reduced Order Modelling and AI enabled Vertical Integration of models.
2. Work with leads to review and Research latest developments in DD domain - Identify, evaluate and acquire technologies relevant for Eaton (Contemporary Thinking)
3. Must have basic understanding of Physics and concepts in Mechanical engineering (Structural, thermal and flow); Basic knowledge of CAD tools like AutoCAD, Creo, Catia, NX, Solidworks is preffered
4. Mentor and Support GB internal reviews. Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement to impact Cost, Quality and Schedule
5. Mentor SB05 and SB06 engineers for effective execution and quality deliverables.

6. Work closely with Product Engineering and Digital Engineering teams to develop compelling technical proposals
7. Develop and maintain relationships with global stakeholders, technical community and leadership team.
8. Participate in external forums, conferences consortiums and explore opportunities for external collaborations."
Qualifications:
Masters degree in Engineering
Relevant experience: 3+ years with Masters degree (Mechanical/Aerospace), AI / ML model development, technology development for product design and analysis
Skills:
"Should have demonstrated skills in:
- Physics based modelling and simulation at components, sub-system and system level. Strong experience in working with tools like ANSYS/ ABAQUS/DIGIMAT/ MATLAB/ ADAMS etc.
- Machine Learning/ Deep Learning model development and implementation for design and optimization problems using Python based frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, ScikitLearn or MATLAB. Hands-on experience of working on NLP/LLM/RAG modular workflows for engineering processes.
- Design for Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and implementation across projects
- Proven innovation and IP track record, Technology Development and Maturity
- Problem Solving Skills, Effective project management and Lean thinking/ Continuous Improvement mindset
- Self-motivated, Strong inter-personal skills, Technical and Leadership Communication
- Experience of working in multi-cultural teams and with global stakeholders "
