Senior Design Engineer
Eaton's Power Components Division is currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer. This is a hybrid position (3 days on-site, 2 days remote per week) based at our Moon Township, PA location. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates currently residing within the US/PR.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.

What you'll do:
This role is responsible for product design engineering for Eaton's Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) product line. The engineer ensures product functionality, performance margin, and design robustness across new and existing products. Responsibilities span the full product lifecycle-from concept and validation through production support-while collaborating with global cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, validate, and document MCCB products in alignment with product requirements and industry standards
- Lead new product development initiatives and performance improvements for existing products
- Validate design concepts through testing, modeling, and simulation to ensure robustness and performance margins
- Support product launch activities, including manufacturing readiness and production line support
- Obtain, maintain, and support third-party certifications; address testing non-conformances as needed
- Identify and resolve design, quality, yield, and application issues
- Support cost-reduction (VA/VE) initiatives and component change validations
- Establish control plans, verification methods, and critical-to-quality characteristics
- Apply statistical and quality tools to assess performance baselines and identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, marketing, project management, and customers
- Provide technical support for customer inquiries and communicate project status and metrics to stakeholders

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical component / product design

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Experience with Six-Sigma quality tools and methodology
- Experience with engineering computer applications. Pro/Engineer Creo or similar, Excel, and computer-based simulation modeling (static stress, thermal, kinematics/dynamics, tolerances, etc.)
- Experience in collaborating with global teams
Skills:
- Knowledge of circuit breakers and applicable standard
- General knowledge of product design for cost-effective manufacture, working knowledge of regulatory standards
- Bilingual with fluency in English and Spanish is an asset, but not required
- Cross-functional teamwork and written & verbal communication skills
- Fundamentals of project management
- Methodical mechanical problem solver
- Fundamentals of electricity
- Understanding of product requirements and performance margin, system, product & component design
- Laboratory skills and safe work practices
- Ability to travel approximately 10% including internationally
