Quality Systems Engineer - Materials Lab

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Quality Systems Engineer - Materials Lab in our Euclid, OH facility! This role is aligned to a day shift schedule, Monday - Friday.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

This position is responsible for understanding, implementing and monitoring the quality requirements of Eaton's Aerospace Laboratories and Plating Department. This position is critical to maintaining Eaton's Aerospace laboratories NADCAP certifications. As part of their duties, this position will review NADCAP and quality system changes and help implement them in the lab, as well as coordinating PTP and round robin testing. During NADCAP and other audits, this position may be the lead representative. To perform these duties, this position must have an understanding of the Materials Lab test areas and Plating functions. As part of this understanding, this position may involve some hands on lab work and engineering problem solving.

  • Understand NADCAP requirements and how they apply to the Materials Lab
  • Conduct internal audits to requirements
  • Act as lead/co-lead representative during lab and plating audits
  • Set-up and maintain current, precise and systematic records for the quality system
  • Schedule and conduct equipment calibrations as required
  • Communicate with Lab and Plating external customers when necessary to support quality concerns, conformance and problem solving
  • Communicate (both orally and written) with supervision and Sales in a precise, logical, informative and tactful manner
  • Review and sign off test certificates and Certificates of Conformance as necessary
  • Manage and control test documents and storage
  • Investigate quality concerns of lab testing and plating processing

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a quality focused role
  • Candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of Euclid, Ohio. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in an engineering field
  • Experience working with NADCAP, ISO, and AS9100 quality standards

Skills:

  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Understanding of test procedures within a manufacturing facility
  • Direct and succinct communication skills
  • Able to effectively communicate within different functions of a manufacturing facility
