Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for carefully monitoring the overall quality of manufactured products. They rigorously test processes and enforce uncompromising quality standards. The engineer is also responsible for creating detailed documentation, designing strict quality tests, and setting clear criteria for test results. Quality Engineers maintain high-quality standards and decisively address any issues that arise. They work alongside a team of professionals to ensure that final products consistently meet and exceed customer expectations while optimizing the manufacturing process to be both efficient and cost-effective.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develops and implements quality standards.
2. Develops and implements quality control systems.
3. Monitors and analyze quality performance.
4. Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
5. Collaborate with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
6. Develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
7. Review codes, specifications, and processes.
8. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that all raw materials meet organizational quality standards.
9. Interpret customer feedback for identifying flaws in manufactured goods and suggest/implement changes wherever needed.
10. Monitor employee training and safety standards followed as a part of manufacturing process.
11. Analyze and document potential issues in production process and design methods to fix them.
12. stay updated about the legal standards and regulations for manufactured products and ensure compliance to those standards.
13. Improve customer satisfaction and brand loyalty through quality consistent products.
14. Collate data and prepare quality reports to analyze external and internal quality standards.
15. lead cross functional teams during root cause analysis events.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering field from an accredited institution.
• Experience with principals of statistics, calculus, trigonometry, and other advanced topics in mathematics for analysis, design, and troubleshooting in their work.
• Project Management experience desirable.
• Proficient in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years of Quality or Manufacturing experience.
• Understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, control charts, Pareto charts, A3s, etc.
• GB (green belt) or BB (black belt) certified.
• Experience in electrical testing procedures and protocols.
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical equipment at component and integrated system levels.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret regulation and standards, and implementing Electrical Safe Work practices such NFPA 70E.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and trouble shoot electrical control, protection, instrumentation, and metering schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience supporting Engineered to Order (ETO) manufacturing plant.
• Project management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work with little direction and effectively operate in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to assist manufacturing operations and product designers/engineering personnel to resolve electrical design and build production issues.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Position requires supporting operations 24/7, as worked out on collaborative team schedule of controls engineers & technicians.
