QA Validation Engineer

Eaton's Energy Storage division is creating advanced software solutions to optimize and monitor energy assets developed by Eaton. We are building an Energy Management System platform that supervises and controls assets such as batteries, the grid, photovoltaic panels, EV chargers, and more.
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who will help maximize the efficiency and value of our delivery teams by introducing modern, innovative testing methods and tools into our solutions. This role supports new product development across all phases-design, implementation, testing-and also contributes to product industrialization and validation.
What you'll do:
- Perform all aspects of automated testing
- Develop detailed testing approach and plans for specific test areas or overall plans for small to medium size projects
- Produce status reports and quality metrics
- Analyze defect data and manage overall defect resolution process
- Conduct test case reviews and ensure requirements traceability, proper coverage
- Design test cases and execute all types of testing (e.g. functional, integration, end-to-end) on all variety of platforms (e.g. web, portal frameworks)
- Assist project teams in determining appropriate quality goals and acceptance criteria
- Define system validation strategy for Energy Management software features, including software tools and hardware/equipment.
- Leads/contributes to automated tests (testbench) reducing the cost and errors for manual testing. Relying on emulators and simulators.
- Respects and promote Eaton quality process and tools (6sigma, etc...)
- Support Operation and Maintenance activities (may lead visible Root Cause Analysis)
- Act in line with Eaton's Code of Ethics, Aspirational Goals and Policies, in order to ensure the safety, health and wellness of employees and be active stewards of the environment

Qualifications:
- Education: Engineer, M.S. or equivalent ( BAC +5)
- Good knowledge and experience in
o Test definition and implementation in order to validate a product (Storage system is an advantage)
o Quality Tools and Test Process (DFSS...)
o Programming languages to write small test script (Python, C++) - Following specialties are nice to have
o Other languages (shell, Perl,...)
o Experience with contributing to OpenSource projects
o Experience with Continuous Integration
Knowledge of HW power electronic boards (from Inverter to communication card) appreciated
Ability to work in agile team
Additional Qualifications:
• Collaboration with other quality teams in the organization and software engineers from our customers and partners in order to customize solutions.
• Understand the quality requirements to validate a product
• is able to define test, so must have SW/FW knowledge to capture how the system works.
