Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Purchasing Assistant in El Paso TX.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $59000 - $86000 a year.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for supporting the purchasing activities related to Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials and services. This role ensures the timely availability of parts, supplies, and services required to support plant maintenance and operational needs while complying with company policies. In addition, the function may be in a temporary basis be requested to provide support in specific areas such as sourcing and re- sourcing of current and potential vendors within the panel of Vendor for EATON.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Process MRO purchase requisitions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Create, track, and close Purchase Orders (POs) in the ERP system.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, lead times, and availability.
• Follow up on deliveries, back orders, and supplier discrepancies.
• Maintain and update supplier, items, and pricing information in the system.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Warehouse, and Finance departments to ensure material availability.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation.
• Support basic supplier negotiations for local and spot-buy purchases.
• Maintain purchasing records and documentation for audit purposes.
• Assist with MRO inventory control and cycle counts.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, safety, and ethical standards.
• Participate and ensure engineering changes coordination among planners to understand potential sourcing activities
• Sourcing and resourcing projects with potential savings (cost out) for the company

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• HSD or GED equivalent
• Prior experience using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems
• 1 or more years of purchasing experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of El Paso TX will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 years purchasing experience
• Previous MAPICS AS400 experience
• Bilingual (English Spanish)

Position Success Criteria:

• Intermediate Microsoft office Excel mainly
• MRO purchasing processes (spare parts, tools, consumables, services).
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).
• Understanding of inventory control and administrative purchasing procedures.
• Basic logistics and Incoterms knowledge (preferred)

• On-time delivery performance for MRO materials.
• Purchase order accuracy.
• Backorder quantity open
• Service level to Maintenance and Operations.
