Eaton's Electrical sector is currently seeking a Proposals / Quotations Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Delta, BC facility and offers benefits from day one.

As a Proposals / Quotations Specialist, your primary responsibility is to support proposal requirements for medium-sized, large, and complex projects within the Electrical Engineering Services & Systems Division (EESS). This role contributes to the growth of key market areas, including Aftermarket services, Energy Transition initiatives, and turnkey Project Operations. You collaborate closely with the sales team, senior project managers, and regional managers throughout the front-end sales cycle, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition from the proposal stage through to project execution.

What you'll do in this role:

  • Support Sales and the EESS team, focusing primarily on the Delta, BC region while also assisting proposal requests from other Canadian locations.
  • Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals for all assigned opportunities, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and competitive positioning.
  • Lead proposal development for large-scale projects across key market segments, including:

-Utilities (distribution, transmission, generation: hydro, gas, coal)

-Switchgear modernization

-Data centers (substation and switchgear applications)

-Industrial facilities (switchgear upgrades, control systems)

-Government and public-sector infrastructure

  • Develop proposals aligned with strategic growth initiatives, such as:

- Aftermarket services

-Power systems automation and controls

-Microgrid and energy transition projects

  • Build comprehensive project cost estimates, incorporating engineering, equipment, construction, commissioning, and related services.
  • Define subcontractor scope to support accurate construction estimates and project execution readiness.
  • Create value-added solutions that exceed standard specifications, enhancing customer value and clearly differentiating Eaton's offerings from competitors.
  • Review and analyze detailed project specifications, equipment requirements, and supplier pricing to ensure optimal alignment with project needs.
  • Coordinate terms and conditions reviews with the Contracts Department following Eaton's established processes.
  • Participate in customer-facing engagements, including joint sales visits and technical presentations, promoting Eaton's turnkey project capabilities to end-users, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Support detailed project handoffs and contribute to active project teams by identifying and capturing scope changes or value enhancements beyond original specifications.
  • Assist with monthly proposal activity reporting to Project Operations, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Travel occasionally for site visits, customer meetings, and sales training-typically one to three days per trip.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and development, continually strengthening your technical and professional skills.
  • Complete required safety and product training, maintaining compliance and readiness.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, assisting in the creation and maintenance of standardized proposal templates, pricing tools, and other resources that enhance Proposal Solutions Group efficiency.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or College Diploma, in a technical field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of electrical industry-related experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) plus years of experience in sales or proposal development.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the electrical industry, related to application engineering in electrical power systems, utility and/ or industrial substation construction, and switchgear projects.
  • Estimating experience in substation, switchgear, and electrical system installations.
  • Experience with emerging technology and systems associated with microgrid/energy storage or renewable energy solutions.
  • Experience with proposal development for all of Eaton's end markets (Utility, Industrial, Commercial, and Government).
  • Experience in writing and reviewing subcontractor work scopes and agreements.
  • Experience evaluating vendor quotes for specification compliance.
  • Experience with risk evaluation and management.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $93000 - $117000 a year. You are also eligible for overtime compensation.
