Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Program Manager I.

What you'll do:

This position is responsible for management of Engineering R&D, OpEx, and Continuous Improvement projects for the Eaton ARS facility in Juarez, MX. The Program Manager manages the project planning, execution, requirements changes, risk mitigation, and issue tracking. This will include the use of the PROLaunch NPI, VAVE, STB, or BPS processes. In addition, this position will serve as a ProLaunch champion and will lead the site self-assessment and action planning process.

Job Responsibilities
1. Accountability for project scope and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments.
2. Establishes objectives, goals, and provides direction to the program and project teams in areas of customer needs, potential changes in scope and risk assessment.
3. Leads the PROLaunch team during each development phase to insure Activity Matrix deliverables are defined and achieved. Coordinates required activities and presents project status and performance data at Gate Review events.
4. Ensures standard program management processes are utilized and provides support to the program and project teams by coordinating PM reviews. Prepares & publishes PM metrics and reports to project stakeholders regularly.
5. Works in cross-disciplinary manner with other departments (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Procurement, Customer Support, Supply Chain, etc.) to align project activities and facilitate the PROLaunch processes.
6. Coordinates all risks and requirements of the program by planning, controlling, and integrating all projects into the programs. Measures all project elements to ensure the requirements and goals are successfully achieved.
7. Financial acumen to complete required capital appropriation requests for assigned projects. Tracks actual and estimated final project costs against budget.
8. Develops and manages communication plan as appropriate for each project. Provides regular status updates to internal leadership.
9. Works to understand the project impact to the business and identify the impact of project changes on the portfolio.
10. Completes other duties as assigned.
11. Drives the implementation of company standard tools to improve Program Management performance at the site.
12. Stays current on advances and initiatives in the PM field and serves as a change agent. Evaluates and implements new PM tools to improve quality and efficiency as needed.
13. Leads regular prolaunch self assessments, develops action plans and implements process improvements to increase the site's performance.
14. Serves as the ProLaunch champion for the site and participates in site OpA assessments for the Program Management category
15. Participates in annual planning processes such as road mapping, waterlining, and profit planning; helps to determine project priorities within the portfolio
16. Participates and sometimes leads PMO training events; may test and provide feedback to the COE on proposed new or updated program management tools and processes prior to implementatio

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 3 years experience leading programs or projects for engineering or manufacturing teams #LI-MB2

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a Business or Engineering Discipline
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in program management and leadership of project teams.

Technical knowledge
• PMP Certification preferred
• Knowledge of the product design and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of Program and Project Management methodologies, processes and tools.

Skills:

Position Criteria:
• Proficient communication and presentation skills - both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer.
