Eaton's Electrical Sector America is seeking a Product Line Systems & Support Engineer. This position is based on site Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at our Omaha, NE manufacturing facility, supporting our Power Distribution & Controls Assemblies division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components to ensure they meet Eaton's high standards of quality and performance. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Additionally, this role will have direct contact with customers regarding their requirements and events like witness tests, and document reviews.

You'll be the technical bridge between our sales force and customers-guiding onboard approvals, witness tests, and circuit designs that bring ideas to life.

Your expertise will shape engineering documentation that drives drafting, procurement, and production. You'll also provide hands-on technical guidance to our manufacturing teams, support strategic product marketing initiatives, and empower field sales with negotiation and application insights.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000.0 - $105,000.0 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

The Product Line Systems & Support Engineer is responsible for an assigned product line, to (1) drive improvements for the COE/Customer Order Design (COD) teams in the automation tools, (2) provide continued learning for COE/COD on expected use of the software tools and best practices, (3) support systems training for new hires and (4) ticket escalation support for COE/COD issues/requests. We are currently hiring positions for the following product lines:
Medium Voltage Assemblies - Greenwood, SC & Omaha, NE
Low Voltage Switchgear - Arden, NC
Low Voltage Switchboards - Sumter, SC & El Paso, TX
Portland Power Center - Portland, OR

This position is expected to have prior COE experience within the aforementioned product lines, with working knowledge of configuration requirements and the associated systems and processes in the division, including Bid Manager, MI Manager, Design Automation, DCMS, POM, ENOVIA, MAPICS, AutoCAD and other site-specific tools.

Essential Functions

A. Deploying and supporting Front End Engineering systems for the assigned product line.
B. Support the development of product line specific training documentation on their use of the engineering software tools and processes.
C. Provide onsite support as the first point of escalation for systems related issues, determining root cause, urgency and communications as necessary to keep all stakeholders informed.
D. Support the prioritization of MI and DA system issues tickets through individual contribution and coordination of other Eaton resources.
E. Maintain familiarity with COE and COD processes for the assigned product line, inclusive of application/engineering decisions and methods, product offerings and design standards.
F. Gather requests for system enhancements and communicate those to the appropriate development manager.
G. Support continuous testing for systems enhancements and bug fixes as they are deployed.
H. Knowledgeable of MI parts picking logic in order to troubleshoot parts picking errors and scope updates with product line enhancements.
I. Be available for after-hours and weekend support.
J. Participate in product line meetings on Front End Systems projects and continuous improvement activities, driving best practices and knowledge sharing across the various teams (engineering, design and systems)

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
  • One (1)+ year of applicable experience with engineered-to-order (ETO) products and their associated configuration tools.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offer for this position. Only candidates currently residing within a 50 mile radius of Omaha, NE will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
  • Preference will be given toward candidates with extensive experience in Eaton's ETO software tools including, but not limited to: Bid Manager, MI Manager, Design Automation, DCMS, Plant Order Manager, Pick Work Bench, etc.

Skills:

• Working knowledge of N.E.C., IEEE, UL, and various local electric codes.
• Ability to interpret both customer specifications and electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Prior experience as a COE.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient use of Eaton's ETO software systems and AutoCAD.
