Product Engineering Manager - Conveyance
Eaton's Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Product Engineering Manager - Conveyance to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, MI facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $109000 - $159000 a year.

What you'll do:
Primary Function:
Engineering leadership position responsible for effective leadership, administration, and professional direction of Coupling Product Line team and budget. This includes a team of 8 direct reports with a mix of on-site and remote team members in the US and a Pune, India support team of 6. This individual will be responsible for short and long-range product development through sound execution of engineering principles and processes. The position also coordinates support to and from operations teams for subject matter expertise and engineering centers of excellence. Accountabilities under this individual's direction are New Business Proposals and New Product Development including leadership and technical guidance for the development of military and commercial components.

Essential Functions:
- Leads an engineering department to deliver high quality technical deliverables on time. Develops and maintains a culture of accountability. Provides technical advice and guidance to this team. Creates opportunities for growth and development and improves employee satisfaction, product expertise, etc;
- Utilizes Eaton Business Systems (EBS) tools and processes to drive predictive performance on coupling product and TMS technology development activities. Develops and implements industry best practice processes and tools for engineering tasks. Monitors to assure adherence to defined processes. Develops organizational capability/capacity and engineering/technical skills among staff to support the product teams and division strategies and initiatives. Maintains appropriate training programs to assure continuous learning;
- Leads execution of robust PROLaunch design processes and continuous improvement/design efficiency initiatives (i.e. DFSS/DFR) across the coupling portfolio and technology function. Develops practices for documented technical standards around best practices and using lessons learned;
- Drives continuous improvement of resource management, productivity, and first-pass quality of engineered products and deliverables. Identifies key engineering metrics, monitors performance and implements improvements accordingly;
- Operates as a member of the FED Conveyance Engineering Leadership team. Leads development and execution of strategic planning initiatives, allocation of engineering resources, and contributes to the development of technology roadmaps
- Develops and fosters close professional relationships with customers and industry partners for developing new product requirements, major modifications of existing products, prototype qualification test requirements, and to resolve product performance deficiencies;
- Responsible for planning and execution to budget and resource plans. Leads profit planning efforts for the coupling new product development team and overseas execution to maintain budgets throughout the period of performance.
Drives internal/external innovation activities across the product line engineering and technology function, including IP management;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited institution in engineering required.
- Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience with progressive responsibility
- Experience with engineering processes/tools required (DFSS, DFMEA, 8D, Teardown Analysis)
- Based on government requirements for the program this role will be supporting, applicants must be a US Citizen for consideration (no dual citizenship).
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Jackson, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in engineering and/or business management is desirable
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification and Shanin RedX Problem solving Certification
- Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience in conducting competitive analyses and defining/executing business level strategy.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes and critical design reviews, portfolio and program management skills, knowledge of technology trends, successful new product introduction experience, creative/innovative thinking.
- Proven track record of driving change and ability to develop and execute technology development plans.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication presentation skills and the ability to work well with customers and development team members
