Product Design Engineer
Eaton's Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Williamsburg, VA facility. Eaton's Marina Power and Lighting Division designs, manufactures and services Marina and RV Temporary Power Pedestals, Enclosures and Power Distribution Products (Substations & Panels) to ensure power reliability in the marina industry. The Product Design Engineer will provide engineering support to the Eaton Williamsburg manufacturing plant in Williamsburg, VA, supporting a growing population of 80 employees.
Additionally, the Product Design Engineer will design electrical and mechanical drawings (2D/3D) according to product requirements and specifications to ensure robust product offerings fit for marina and RV applications. This role will also manage the product life cycle, organize information and support APQP of product components and customer interfacing of projects.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you'll do:
- Create three-dimensional models using Autodesk Inventor software, converting files to two-dimensional drawings with applicable notes for manufacturing.
- Apply knowledge of Sheetmetal fabrication and injection molding into design of products
- Integrate Eaton products with marina and RV product offerings.
- Apply sensor and communication technology to communicate information to software platforms.
- Apply unique lighting effects that add architectural features to our products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical design systems with overall manufacturing processes.
- Help design and draft new product development ideas and prototypes.
- Develop and maintain product requirements documentation and drawings for all products and mechanical systems.
- Balance multiple shifting priorities and expectations as business needs change.
- Create Electrical diagrams and 120-600V power systems, D/C control systems, low voltage for communication and network connectivity.
- Develop an understanding of electrical code pertaining to Marina and Boatyards, NFPA70, Section 555, and apply to products.
- Follow all Eaton change management processes to document design and or process changes using Pro-Launch and Enovia.
- Meet all assigned deadlines for drawings preparation and submittal according to customer timelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited educational institution.
- One (1) year of mechanical, design, or electrical engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) years design engineering experience using 2D and 3D modeling programs such as AutoCAD Inventor, SolidWorks or related software.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, printed circuit boards, UL and NEC codes and standards.
- Knowledge of sheet metal tools using Inventor.
- Knowledge of basic drafting standards and GD&T.
