Plant Support Engineer
Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Plant Support Engineer.
What you'll do:
Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
Position Overview:
In this role, the Lead Product Engineer will provide sustaining support for Low Voltage Power Conversion products that include Low Voltage DC-DC Converters and Equalizers, Auxiliary Inverters and embedded electronics power supplies. The Lead Product Engineer will be responsible for product improvements and cost down activities and will also generate concepts, manage the design, development, testing, technical documentation, and launch of new products and extensions/updates to existing product lines. This position is based at our Tijuana, MX plant.
In this function you will:
• Be a key part of the team during new product launches, collaborate with team on end-of-line testing, PPAP and supplier quality
• Lead all current product engineering activities from the manufacturing site to address customer, field, and plant manufacturing issues
• Lead electrical analysis to resolve challenges such as component failure, design issues, test specification clarifications and system test troubleshooting while helping to resolve manufacturing challenges such as line optimization, scrap reduction, and cost efficiency
• Evaluate change impact to current products, offering decisions on updates and work scope
• Collaborate with product development team and plant manufacturing and testing teams to perform design-for-manufacturing, design-for-testing and PCBA and assembly optimization

• Support pre-production (prototype) product building, validation and evaluation
• Conduct testing of product changes and new products in accordance with standards and customer requirements to confirm conformance
• Launch new products following the Eaton PROLaunch stage-gate process.
• Lead problem solving work leveraging methods like 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why, RedX, Lean Sigma
• Lead and support team activities that create higher value products, benefiting both Eaton and our customers. #LI-AR7
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Automotive Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum of five (5) years working in product development or sustaining product engineering
• Hands on experience with electrical assemblies and testing, ideally in automotive applications
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Mexico without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with power electronics assemblies, PCBA design, manufacturing and testing.
• Experience working as an engineer within a plant manufacturing environment.
• Experience with development stage gate processes and demonstrated use of Design for Six Sigma tools.
• Understand creepage and clearance requirements on high voltage components driving design intent.
• Experience with converting customer requirements to engineering requirements
• Experience with establishing and documenting design rules
• Experience with ASME drawing standards and GD&T
• Experience with tolerance analysis/stacks
• Experience within passenger car market environmental requirements and related qualification testing required.
• Experience with Solid Works (preferred), CREO-ProE, NX or CATIA
• Experience with PLM software (i.e. Enovia)
• Experience directing, interpreting and making design decisions from mechanical and electrical design analysis
• Experience with DFx practices: Manufacturing, Test, Repair, Quality
• Ability to work with cross-functional team across the globe
