Plant Manager

Eaton's Mobility Group is seeking a Plant Manager to lead our eMobility Power Connections site in Carol Stream, IL. Relocation assistance is available for candidates within the US. Travel is expected to be minimal (~10% maximum).

Our Carol Stream plant is a non-union site with 250 people operating across two shifts. This site was part of a recent acquisition and the team designs, tests, and manufactures high-speed, high-precision electrical connector technologies. This is a high-visibility position given the projected growth for this business.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $158249.97 - $232099.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

You will be responsible for the overall management, direction, and coordination of plant operations. By delegating authority to key functional staff, you will ensure the attainment of production objectives at the lowest cost, while meeting customer and quality requirements. You will oversee all production and related activities at the company, including production, manufacturing engineering, materials, logistics, purchasing, supplier and product quality, finances, safety, and human resources.

Job Responsibilities:

• Must work consistently to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness, and observe all governmental, regional, and company safety and health regulations.
• Lead through stewardship of the site's organizational culture.
• Communicate and provide leadership to ensure achievement of plant objectives:

o Tactical operational plans (e.g., Profit Plan Goal)
o Strategic plans aligned with divisional and group operational strategies

• Build organizational capability by empowering functional areas while providing overall direction and accountability in accordance with Eaton's values and philosophies.
• Select, motivate, and develop personnel to ensure a qualified staff.
• Maintain and improve employee relationships with all plant employees by supporting Eaton's Philosophy of Excellence through People. Ensure appropriate, effective, and timely functional communication in alignment with Eaton's values and philosophy, both internal and external to the plant.
• Provide guidance to the leadership team's functional areas in the development and deployment of the Capital Plan, annual Profit Plan, and Strategic Plan in alignment with the overall divisional group level plan.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Operational Excellence functional area to ensure customer expectations are met while driving the integration of the Culture of Quality through deployment of the Eaton Business System.
• Support product innovation opportunities by aligning with Eaton Product Pro-Launches.
• Provide direction and overall leadership and support for Cost Out initiatives at both the plant and divisional levels.
• Create an atmosphere and provide leadership that allows each manager to utilize their full potential to accomplish plant and divisional objectives.
• Support and/or participate in continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen, Ideas Programs, cost out, and demonstrate improvements in goals year over year in processes or practices aligned to achieve business goals and objectives.

• Participate in PROLaunch as a Decision Gate Committee (DGC) member when required.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain, and engineering
• Minimum of 2 years as a Plant Manager
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques, as well as Safety/Environmental compliance experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA from an accredited institution preferred
• Automotive industry experience preferred
• Tool & Die and Stamping experience preferred
• Minimum of 5 years within a complex, matrixed, multinational organization
• Experience leading a site transformation, product launch and process development
• Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) a plus

Skills:
• Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure analysis, and wage and salary administration
• Ability to work cross functionally and drive results even without authority
• Broad knowledge of product and manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong communication skills; comfortable facilitating teams and groups and working with all levels in the organization
• Perseverance and leadership to manage projects and drive for results
• Ability to plan, organize, build effective teams, and motivate others
• Innovative mindset and ability to facilitate team sessions
