Operator 2 Winder - 2nd Shift

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Operator 2 Winder - 2nd Shift. The Richmond, VA site specifically focuses in on cirtical power distibution for multiple segments; those including Utitlites, Data Centers, Hospitality, and Commercial Instiutions. The Operator II Winder- 2nd Shift offers a 40-hour paid week with hours being from 3:30pm-12:00am, full benefits, and 401K match plan.

The hourly rate for this position is $27.49 per hour.

What you'll do:

The Winder, Welder operator position will be responsible for winding coils used in electrical equipment and instruments or as electronic components, according to wiring diagrams, sample coil, or work order, using coil-winding machines and hand tools: Reviews wiring diagrams and work order or examines sample coil to ascertain type and size of wire specified, and type, size, length, circumference, and primary and secondary windings of coil to be wound.

In this function you will:
• Wind aluminum and copper coils for dry type transformers
• Cross training in hook-up/hot work assembly to meet production demands
• Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc.
• Maintain a minimum of 80% of productivity time standards
• Adhere to company regulations, including adherence to policies regarding safety, attendance and punctuality
• Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints
• Keep all work areas clean, organized and presentable
• Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• 6 months of previous winding experience or the approval of trainer, team lead, and supervisor that the necessary skills below are met
• Proficient use heavy industrial equipment, including cranes, winding machines, fabrication, welding and brazing equipment
• Qualification of bar to foil and foil to foil welding
• Ability to wind coils for dry type transformers while adhering to Eaton's quality standard
• Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc.
• Maintain a minimum of 80% of productivity time standards
• Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints
• Adhere to company, environmental, health, safety rules and regulations
• Provide process and safety improvement ideas
• Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+

• Forklift operator certification (can be trained on-site)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in related field preferred
• Certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent high school trades course
• Previous Machine Operation experience
