Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Operational Technologies Technician. The position will be based at our El Paso, Texas facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

The Operational Technologies Technician will assist in the development of Continuous Improvement Engineering initiatives which will result in supporting advancements in productivity, product cost, quality and/or the maintenance of the plant facilities equipment and its production process. They will perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique design applications.

Essential Functions:
• Assist in Industry 4.0 projects including automation, Digital core, IIoT, additive manufacturing and systems integration.
• Support plant teams on maintenance of machine connectivity & data acquisition activities.
• Develop knowledge & expertise in the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies to be a subject matter expert (SME) for the site teams.
• Provide technical support related to automation and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing, engineering or IT network experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in programming, big data or analytics. (Power BI, R, Pandas)

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience Manufacturing Engineering or IT network
  • Experience in implementing I4.0 solutions in the manufacturing industry (ie. Additive Mfg, real time OEE, Digital Work Instructions, Predictive Maintenance, Digital Traceability, Machine Learning AI, Simulation, Collaborative Robots, Autonomous Mobile Robots, Augmented Reality)
  • Experience in Automation and Controls engineering
  • Experience in additive manufacturing
  • Experience with electronic systems, electric cabinets or wiring of hardware (motors, PLC's, sensors,...)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, System's Engineering or Technical Science degree from an accredited institution

Position Criteria:

• Proficient with computer and software tools - including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros, power query.)
• Understanding of machine connectivity, communication protocols & data management
• Understanding of IT infrastructure & system integration.
• Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green minimum)
• Basic experience with 3D CAD modeling software (Inventor, Solidworks)
