NDT Level 1 RT Technician - 1st Shift

Eaton's IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a NDT Level 1 RT Technician - 1st Shift.

The hours for this role are 7am-3:30pm

The hourly rate for this position is $27-$31 per hour.

What you'll do:

The NDT Level 1 RT (radiographic testing) Technician is responsible for performing nondestructive testing (NDT) utilizing digital radiography and CT (Computed Tomography) scanning technologies. This position requires to obtain and maintain NDT Level 1 & 2 RT Digital Radiography certification. Inspections will be performed with oversight until certification is obtained. This position will also support the Inspection (receiving and final) department as needed.

In this function you will:
• This position requires to obtain and maintain NDT Level 1 & 2 RT for digital radiography.
• Follow work instructions to process parts, document results, and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instructions.
• Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
• Conduct the necessary preparation of parts before or after NDT in accordance with approved work instructions.
• Perform conventional and automated NDT (nondestructive testing) Level 1 Inspection of welds, forgings, castings, machined surfaces or other fabricated parts and assemblies in accordance with company procedures, customer codes, standards and other contractual documents to verify product conformance.
• Maintains complete and accurate records of inspection activities.
• Receive guidance from a certified Level 2 or Level 3 in the method being performed when necessary.
• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on parts and products, including but not limited to mechanical and visual inspections.
• Work to approved inspection checklists, engineering drawings, purchase orders, work instructions and specifications.
• Utilize Non-Conforming Material Control process to document parts that do not meet specifications.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with mechanical and visual inspection of parts and assemblies.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience using business-class software in a professional employment setting.
• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Orchard Park facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications:
• NAS 410 NDT Level 1 or 2 RT & PT Certifications
• NAS 410 NDT Level 1 or 2 Digital Radiography (DDA - Digital Detector Array) Certification
• ASQ Mechanical Inspector Certification.
• Previous experience with Basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Working knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI) AS9102
• Working knowledge of AS9100

• Must have 20/20 vision corrected or uncorrected in at least one eye and average to normal color vision (4 to 6 responses Titmus, B&L or AO Testing machines or equivalent).
