Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a MVCA Sales Specialist. This position offers a HYBRID work schedule of 2 days work from home and 3 days office at our Eaton Asheville (Arden) NC facility. Relocation assistance will also be provided, if needed.

We are searching for a driven technical sales specialist to join our MVCA team. The technical sales specialist should have a clear understanding of medium voltage drives and their applications and have the ability to demonstrate how they work. The responsibilities would include establishing the needs of the customer and recommending and demonstrating products based on different applications.

To be a successful technical sales specialist, the candidate should be able to develop an excellent rapport with existing customers and be able to identify and source new customers. The qualified technical sales specialist should be knowledgeable about drive products and have the ability to break down technical terminology to non-technical customers.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year.

What you'll do:

In this role:

• Responsible for achieving the assigned sales goals.
• Optimize sales volume, product mix and profit margin, while increasing Medium Voltage Drive sales in the marketplace.
• Manage all aspects of the customer relationship, provide sales and technical assistance with customers, end users, and specifiers. Identify target customers, specifiers and OEM's for Medium Voltage Drive sales and create and execute sales plan to drive MVD growth.
• Drive market analysis, positioning, coverage planning, and value proposition creation.
• Responsible for leading the effort to generate, validate, and execute the value propositions for the Medium Voltage Drives Market.
• Lead the effort in the development of solution sales in order to meet or exceed the sales objectives of the Medium Voltage Drives Product Line.
• Provide expert knowledge in value/solution based selling as well as a strong understanding of the Medium Voltage Drives products.
• Lead/Support sales training efforts to help drive engagement & increase product knowledge with factory sales engineers and North American Sales (NAS).
• Responsible for planning, specification interpretation, quotation and technical support.
• Communicate with end users, specifiers, field sales and plants to facilitate problem resolution.
• Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences and buying habits.
• Review and interpret customer needs on plans and specifications.

Qualifications:

Basic REQUIRED Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three(3) years engineering experience or technical sales in Motor Control, Medium Voltage Drives, and/or Power Systems Electrical Distribution
  • Must be willing to relocate to Asheville, NC (Arden). Relocation assistance will be provided, if needed.
  • Must be willing to travel 25% domestically, North America Region.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or a technical related field of study from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years engineering experience in medium voltage control applications, including medium voltage variable frequency drives.
  • Extensive knowledge of NEMA/ANSI standards, commercial transactions, and selling/pricing policies.
  • Knowledge/experience working with key end-customer segments (i.e. midstream oil & gas, mining, water/wastewater, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of medium voltage controls and/or variable frequency drives

Skills:

• Exemplifies solid product and technical knowledge of control equipment applications.
• Strong written, oral and inter-personal communication skills.
• Travel up to 50% of the time domestically and occasionally internationally
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Must exhibit a willingness and ability to provide a leadership role within the department. Sense of urgency and ability to manage conflicting urgent priorities.
• This position requires strong inter-personal communication and presentation skills. The individual must be able to clearly articulate complex technical material to audiences with varying levels of initial ability, delivered with an agreeable style.
