Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a MOL Controls Engineer.

This rolei s located at our Waukesha, WI facility. No relocation assistance will be provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

What you'll do:

The primary responsibility of this position is to support Voltage Regulator production at the Badger Dr. facility, focusing primarily on assembly and test of Regulator controls and MOL support at the Contract Manufacturers who produce our CL-7 control products. This position will also serve as a backup supporting other manufacturing functions including fabrication, coil winding, stacking, component and unit assembly and test.

In this role you will:

  • Support Badger Dr. and Contract Manufacturer (CM) production by answering technical and product definition data (PDD) questions, resolving build and test questions, and supporting test systems at the CM. Main area of focus will be controls but position will also provide support to coil winding, stacking, component and unit assembly, and component and unit test.
  • Attend tier meetings and act as a liaison between Production and Engineering.
  • Provide technical support for the production test systems located at the CM.
  • Evaluate circuit board components for possible alternatives to avoid part shortages.
  • Evaluate and process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and issue Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to modify PDD.
  • Ensure product is built and tested to Industry, Quality and Engineering design standards.
  • Maintain PDD data such as drawings, bills of materials, and characteristics.
  • Implement design changes in the shop, ensuring changes are implemented with minimal issues.
  • Identify Design for Manufacturing (DFM) opportunities and lead several DFM activities/projects.
  • Identify and implement product cost out (VAVE) opportunities.
  • Participate in design reviews of new ratings and other design changes.

Qualifications:

Basic Quailfications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in electromechanical products and embedded control systems.
  • Two (2) years of experience with custom engineering design and processes
  • Two (2) years of experience in creating, loading, and storing engineering designs within an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • Electrical/Electronics background with a Controls emphasis.
  • Proficiency in various software applications- i.e. Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD and Inventor), MS Office suite, MiniTab, etc.
  • Knowledge of power systems, voltage regulator or distribution/power transformer products/applications, and/or industrial automation/controls
  • Experience using or development of design programs for optimization
  • Experience with product design, cost out, agile methodologies
  • SQL/MySQL database knowledge
  • Embedded systems development and circuit board manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read, evaluate, and interpret internal design specification documents and assist in developing a comprehensive manufacturing test plan.
