Metal Fabrication Technician
Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Metal Fabrication Technician to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA! If you're interested in manufacturing and eager to learn, this could be a great opportunity to grow with us.
The core hours average 54 per week (including overtime) between 6 am - 4:30 pm.
The hourly range for this position is $15.40-$18.48 per hour.

What you'll do:
The Metal Fabrication Technician uses a variety of saws, presses, and shop equipment to cut, shape, and prepare raw materials to specified lengths, angles, and tolerances. This role supports fabrication and welding operations by preparing materials, finishing parts, and ensuring components are staged and ready for downstream processes, while following Eaton's safety and quality standards.

In this function you will:
• Read and interpret MF and MFP work orders and related documentation
• Locate, organize, and transport raw materials to workstations using overhead cranes and material-handling equipment
• Cut and press materials to specification using manual and PLC-controlled saws, shear presses, and punch presses
• Layout, drill, and punch holes and shapes per prints and specifications
• Use grinders, hand tools, and other equipment to finish fabricated parts, deburr edges, and clean components
• Stage fabricated parts for transfer to welding or additional processing steps
• Assist welders with setup and preparation of components for welding operations
• Operate spot/stud welding equipment as required
• Complete required documentation for work orders and submit to shop administration
• Perform basic cleanup and routine maintenance on shop equipment and work areas
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace by following safety procedures and housekeeping standards
• Complete programming and machining of various products
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
• Willingness and ability to be trained
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Minden, LA facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience reading tape measures, work orders, or blueprints
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices (e.g., grinder, saw, tape measure)
• Experience with computer programing and process
Skills:
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, twist, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and use both hands to lift and position materials, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders as needed
• Ability to work outdoors in seasonal temperatures throughout the year
• Ability to work in dusty environments
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear vision with or without corrective lenses
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of trade secrets and proprietary information
