Mechanical Engineer (Switchboards)
Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Switchboards).
The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
Eaton Corporation in El Paso, TX is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer (Switchboards) to join our team.
The Mechanical Engineer (Switchboards) is responsible for engineering customer orders including detailed review of layout and application of equipment, wiring and component selection, component layout and modeling using 3D cad software, and supports various phases of order management from initial engineering review thru production shipment.

In this function you will:
- Verify that complete and accurate order entry information has been received for incoming switchboard orders.
- Prepare Manufacturing Information (MI) for switchboards, utilizing Bid Manager, AutoCAD, and Plant Order Manager.
- Identify and design special fabricated parts required using ACAD and 3-D modeling systems (Auto-Desk Inventor, etc.), ensuring that MI's are completed and the material is routed accordingly to the appropriate assembly team.
- Interface with customers, channel partners, Field-Sales, and EatonCare through participation in plant visits, training support and customer events.
- Provide input to Product Line development teams on design and pick table enhancements.
- Support and assist assembly teams in resolution of process and/or information quality problems.
- Support Satellite Plants thru design review and product implementation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Engineering from an accredited institution with an expected graduation date by May 2026.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MRP/ERP Systems
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk (AutoCAD and 3D Inventor)
- Demonstrated technical and application knowledge of switchboards
- Demonstrated proficiency in verbal & written communications, organizational & computer skills
