Mechanical Design Technician

Position Overview:
• Mechanical Design Technician is responsible for accurately interpreting Parts/assemblies supplied drawings, specifications, and Engineering notes. It is also responsible for loading part numbers into ERP/MRP system and revise bills-of-material for internal customers in Manufacturing and Purchasing departments. Take direction from the Design Engineer or Lead Technician in the conceptualization and design of products.

In this function you will:
• Create 3D CAD models, CAD assembly and detail drawings that describe these products, in conformance with department drafting practices.
• Create associated bills of material using current computer software programs.
• Maintain and update assembly and detail drawings for existing products, to ensure they conform to industry standards utilizing Inventor/AutoCAD.
• Setting up components in the system for ordering
• Upload and set up new parts to MRP/ERP systems

Requisitos:
Basic Qualifications:
• High school or associate degree in engineering
• Able to analyze technical documents and specifications to understand critical requirements.
• BOM/MRP/ERP experience
• Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Fluent bilingual English-Spanish (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• General knowledge about how an ERP system (AS400) works.
• 3D modeling experience (Inventor (preferred), Autocad, Solidworks, Creo, etc.)
• Knowledge of iparts and iAssembly in Inventor
• Knowledge of PLM System (Enovia)
