What you'll do:

The CPT Manager leads the global Clutch & Transmission (CPT) engineering portfolio, accountable for product development, sustaining engineering, systems engineering, and capability building across regions. As leadership role, this position requires strong people leadership, strategic influence, and stakeholder alignment to drive profitable growth and technology differentiation.

Technical Leadership & Product Development
• Lead global design and development of powertrain dampers, clutches, and transmission systems from concept to commercialization.
• Establish and govern engineering standards, design specifications, quality plans, and procedures.
• Drive robust engineering practices using tools such as DFMEA, DFSS/Six Sigma, 8D, and FTA to ensure validated, high-quality designs.
• Contribute to technology strategy, innovation, and integration of state-of-the-art advancements into product roadmaps.

Project & Program Management
• Manage end-to-end engineering projects, ensuring delivery aligned with profit plan and business objectives.
• Define scope, timelines, resources, and deliverables; track progress and manage risks and variances.
• Review and approve key engineering documentation (DFMEA, 8D, specifications, technical reports, ProLaunch materials, ECRs).
• Coordinate and review progress with global engineering teams.
• Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
• Coordinate inter-divisional and global activities to enable efficient product development.
• Support regional and global marketing strategies and customer engagements, including customer focus groups.

• Partner with Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, Program Managers, Global Chief Engineer, and PSM to align on product roadmaps and execution.

People Leadership & Talent Development
• Recruit, develop, and lead engineers, designers, technicians, and contract/co-op staff.
• Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and drive coaching and career development.
• Build organizational capability, succession readiness, and a strong performance culture within the global CPT organization.

Qualifications:

• Masters / PhD in Mechanical / Automotivel Engineering, with demonstrated experience in managing large technical organizations

• 18+ years of experience in powertrain, transmission, or related engineering domains.

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of system integration, NPI, DSFR, PPAP, VAVE and V&V.
• Experience working in global matrix organizations.
