Machine Operator (Spiral) - Overnight
Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Machine Operator (Spiral) - Overnight to join our team in Middlesex, NC!
This is an overnight role that will work 4 10's: 8 pm - 6:30 am, Monday - Thursday.
The hourly rate for this position is $23.12 per hour + $0.50 per hour shift premium.

What you'll do:
The Machine Operator (Spiral) is responsible for setting up and operating wire winders to produce a spiral wrap over Teflon® tubing. They set up and operate braiders for PTFE and the larger diameter hose. They complete complex set-ups with precise and tighter tolerances. Prep and clean mandrels, operate Pole-Up & Strip-Out and operate overhead crane, and operate inline proof tester as needed.

In this function, you will:
- Move materials and carriers based on work order and set up sheets to work station
- Set up braider: string up carriers, loading carriers onto braiders, pull wire from carrier and string up die per specifications, feed mandrel/hose into the braider, set up tape machine
- Complete quality checks on braided hose, this includes pick counts, outer diameter, high wires, score lines
- Strip and set-up winders, be able to perform daily maintenance on wire winder which includes tension checks, roller checks and break pad changes etc.
- Pull catenary to ensure wire meets specified quality standards
- Proof test samples of finished hose. Proof test built hose on inline proof tester.
- Load and strip PTFE tubing from steel mandrels before/after braiding.
- Safely utilize overhead crane to move mandrels to/from braiders and departments.
- Operate oven to bake wire
- Use overhead hoist to lift spools of wire onto wire winders
- Move wire and tape from storage to work area based on router and work order
- Coil and place braided hose on pallets for proof testing
- Perform duties relative to production in the assigned area and is able to operate all equipment and machinery in the assigned area.
- Produce a quality product, safely, on-time, and with the least cost possible.
- Review work orders, specifications or instructions to determine material, ingredients, procedures, components and settings. Accurately record data on process travelers.
- Accurately complete computer transactions as necessary (labor & scrap transactions, inventory disbursements & cycle counts, etc.).
- Participate in cell/team activities including, but not limited to, team meetings, problem-solving, CI events, etc.
- Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S+ and TPM practices
- Follow all plant, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.
- Model the Eaton ethical conduct policy, Eaton Leadership Model, the Eaton Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using hand and power tools

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience with computer transactions in ERP system
- Minimum of 1 year experience operating an overhead crane
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in aerospace manufacturing
Skills:
- Basic math skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good problem-solving, prioritization and decision-making skills.

- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions may produce some discomfort, e.g. exposure to moving machinery, noise, dust, heat, grease/oil and fumes.

- Almost constant need to give concentrated attention where multiple stimuli are changing quickly, and where two or more senses must be used in coordination.
