Machine Operator (Specialty) - 3rd Shift

Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Machine Operator (Specialty) - 3rd Shift to join our team in Middlesex, NC!

The core hours are 11 pm - 7:30 am.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.47 per hour + $0.50 per hour.

What you'll do:

The Machine Operatory (Specialty) is responsible for setting up and operating wire-winders, yarn winders and braiders to provide a braid on the Teflon hoses. They are primarily working with Aerospace product.

• Wire Winder 3 and 6
• Herzog Yarn Winder

In this role, you will:

  • Move materials and carriers based on work order and set up sheets to work station
  • Set up braider: string up carriers, loading carriers onto braiders, pull wire from carrier to hook, feed hose into the braider, set up layline printer
  • Operate maintain ultrasonic cleaner
  • Complete quality checks on braided hose, this includes pick counts, outer diameter and inner diameter checks and lay line verification
  • Place braided hose in crats
  • Strip and set-up winders, be able to perform daily maintenance on wire winder which includes tension checks, roller checks and break pad changes etc.
  • Operate oven to bake wire
  • Proof test samples of finished hose
  • Move wire or yarn from storage to work area based on router and work order
  • Use over head hoist to lift spools of wire onto wire winders
  • Pull catenary to ensure wire meets specified quality standards
  • Perform duties relative to production in the assigned area and is able to operate all equipment and machinery in the assigned area.
  • Produce a quality product, safely, on-time, and with the least cost possible.
  • Review work orders, specifications or instructions to determine material, ingredients, procedures, components and settings. Accurately record data on process travelers.
  • Accurately complete computer transactions as necessary (labor & scrap transactions, inventory disbursements & cycle counts, expense items, etc.).
  • Participate in cell/team activities including, but not limited to, team meetings, problem-solving, CI events, etc.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S+ and TPM practices
  • Follow all plant, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Model the Eaton ethical conduct policy, Eaton Leadership Model, the Eaton Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with computer transactions in ERP system
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in aerospace manufacturing

  • Problem-solving, prioritization, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to learn computer transactions and operate production equipment.
