Lead Test Engineer

What you'll do:

At Eaton India Innovation Center, Center for Software Platforms and Products is currently seeking a Lead Engineer to join our team!
This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Test Engineer with over 8+ years of relevant experience to contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of our existing test frameworks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing robust automated test scripts, ensuring software quality from functional, non-functional standpoint and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Experience with device testing is a strong plus."

Test Strategy & Planning

Define and drive comprehensive test strategies across functional and non-functional domains.
Create detailed test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria in alignment with product requirements.
Analyze automation feasibility and integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows.

Automation & Framework Ownership

Enhance, optimize, and maintain existing automation frameworks.
Develop scalable, reusable automation scripts for UI, API, and integration testing.
Evaluate new tools, libraries, and test technologies to improve automation efficiency.

Functional Testing

Perform functional, regression, system, end-to-end, and integration testing.
Validate correctness, usability, and functional completeness of software components and devices.
Conduct root-cause analysis of failures and collaborate with development teams for timely resolution.

Performance & Load Testing

Define performance test strategies and execute load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability tests.
Use tools like JMeter, K6, Gatling, LoadRunner, or similar to benchmark system responsiveness and throughput.
Analyze bottlenecks, memory/performance issues, and work with engineering teams to optimize product behavior.

* Device Testing (Preferred)

Execute validation for hardware-software integrated platforms.
Conduct firmware validation, device behavior verification, and protocol-based communication testing.
Validate device functionality under varied environmental and real-world conditions."

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science/Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution required.
• Proven 6+ total software industry experience, with focus towards iot based applications.

Skills:

• Strong SW Testing expertise and proven track record of Test Automation
• Programming Language: Java
• Automation Tools:
• Selenium (Web Automation)
• Appium (Mobile Automation for Android & iOS Simulators)
• Build Tool: Apache Maven
• Framework: BDD (Behavior-Driven Development)
• CI/CD Tools: Bamboo, GitActions
• Test Management: Zephyr, JIRA

Good to have:
• Familiarity with various devices and communication protocols
• Experience in Power, Energy, or IoT domains.
• Exposure to Azure Cloud services
• Knowledge of performance testing tools and scripting"
