Lead Engineer - Mechanical
What you'll do:
This position is part of Product engineering team developing Low Voltage and Power Distribution solutions for on- and off-road automotive applications. As a member of the engineering team, the incumbent will lead the mechanical architecture/design of Power Distribution modules & Fuse Boxes, Circuit Protection devices (circuit breakers, fuses). The position utilizes experience of engineering drawing fundamentals, CAD tools and GD&T to create complex 3D models and drawings through the strong knowledge of ProE. The position utilizes understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs & acts as a technical resource for internal stakeholders and resolve hardware challenges. Position is responsible to execute proto-type build, performance / durability testing, teardown of proto-type samples to evaluate product performance against customer requirements for concept level ideas as well as detailed design before product launch. Position is expected to build strong collaboration with customers, cross functional team for successful execution of product design across all stages of product development process per PROLaunch while maintaining credible communication practice with internal stakeholders and project team on technical clarifications, testing & resolving of field failures. It is expected that the position will utilize DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements.

"Job Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead mechanical design and develop power distribution and protection components and systems to meet customer specific technical, cost and market related technology requirement of Commercial applications.
Applicant shall have experience in design, development and validation of Power Distribution modules & Fuse Boxes, Circuit Protection devices (circuit breakers, fuses)
Applicant must be proficient with performing analytical design calculations, good understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis, electro-Mechanical design calculation, thermal management of electro-mechanical components and manufacturing methods involving casting, forging, sheet-metal components & Plastic injection molding.
Candidate should have knowledge of automotive market, technology trends in electric vehicle in commercial & passenger vehicle segment.
Candidate should be able to participate in defining engineering requirements by understanding customer voice and application.
The candidate must be self-motivated and possess good communication skills with cross functional team namely engineering, manufacturing, project management, marketing and supply chain."
Qualifications:
Graduate in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
10+ years with BE or 8+ years experience with ME / MTech
Skills:
"Proven track record in engineering Design, Analysis, R&D, application engineering domain.
• Knowledge about Electro - Mechanical product design, electric vehicle architecture, thermal management of electronic products & design evaluation criteria for Power Distribution modules & Fuse Boxes, Circuit Protection devices (circuit breakers, fuses)
• Experience in handling Design for Manufacturing, DFMEA & DVPR
• Experience in projects involving significant amount of CAD, FEA, CFD & System modeling along with exposure to PLM software like ENOVIA"
