Lead Engineer - Industrial Automation
What you'll do:
The successful candidate will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of advanced automation solutions across manufacturing and industrial operations. This role demands a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in automation technologies, control systems, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will work as lead with cross-functional team, driving innovation, and ensure seamless integration of automation solutions to enhance productivity, safety, and efficiency.
• Lead automation projects for end-to-end execution of industrial automation initiatives, from concept to commissioning
• Architect detailed requirements, mechanical design and development to implement tailored solutions to operational needs
• Analyze workflows and identify automation opportunities to improve throughput and reduce downtime
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers and system integrators to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
• Manage and mentor a team of automation engineers and technicians
• Ensure all automation systems comply with industry standards and safety regulations
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including schematics, SOPs, and validation protocols
• Provide expert-level support for diagnosing and resolving automation-related issues
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend upgrades to existing systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree (ME) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering
7+ years industrial experience working with line automation solutions development and commissioning
Skills:
• Deep knowledge in mechanical design and development of line or cell automation (Manufacturing Cell Design, Robot Cell Mechanical Design, End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), Conveyor System Design, Part Nest & Fixture Design, Sensor & Actuator Integration, Safety Guarding & Interlocks)
• Deep knowledge in Prototype Development, Scalability & Expandability Design, Preliminary Design Review & Critical Design Review
• Good understanding of standards, ISO 12100, ISO 14120 / 13857, ISO 13849 / IEC 62061, ISO 10218 / TS 15066, ASME B15 / B20
• Hands on experience with advance 3D CAD modeling & parametric design
• Exposure to simulations or virtual validation of concepts
• Broader knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design, PLC programming, SCADA, HMI customization & integration
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Familiarity with robotics integration and motion control systems.
• Understanding of Industrial IoT (IIoT) and smart manufacturing concepts
• Ability to perform system validation and FAT/SAT testing
• Experience with data acquisition and analytics platforms.
• Experience in working with Industry best / Eaton preferred hardware vendors (FANUC, KUKA, MIR, ABB, Omron, UR, etc.)
