Lead Engineer
Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Lead Engineer.
Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
What you'll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
A. New Product Process Design and Development
B. Leads the creation of manufacturing processes, routing, and drawings, as supervisor of local design team.
C. Provide product engineering technical support to plant departments, customers, & sales account managers on assigned engineering programs and/or existing products.
D. Provide technical direction to the plant for design, prototype build & test activities working together with corporate engineering group.
2. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Leads, coordinate, and execute the creation of manufacturing processes, routings, and drawings, as supervisor of local design team.
B. Provide technical direction to the plant for design, prototype build & test activities working together with the core team.
C. Function as design & development engineering for assigned programs. Examples: tolerance stacks, design option evaluations, establishing critical characteristics to meet design goals, & collaborating with subcontractors & internal resources to effectively create a functional and reliable product.
D. Evaluate and verify processes and tool designs developed by direct reports.
E. Investigate, analyze, recommend, and implement improvements to existing manufacturing operations to maintain and increase efficiency.
F. To manage and coordinate the manufacturing feasibility reviews (MFR) with a multidisciplinary team from request of cost (RFC) opportunities, new product development and/or existing products changes request.
G. Review, approves, and provide feedback to the Product Engineering Divisional Team for the ECO's/CO's applicable to the plant.
H. Assure on time and proper execution of LPA's according to plant schedule.
I. Implements, promotes, and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area.
J. Promotes the company's vision by actively supporting Eaton's ethics and values as well as quality policies.
K. Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.
Qualifications:
A. Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredit institution.
B. 7 years' experience minimum in a related manufacturing or engineering environment.
C. GD&T advanced.
D. Product development knowledge withing the automotive industry.
E. Full billingual (English/Spanish).
F. Previous supervisor roles (technicians or engineers).
G. Problem solving skills.
H. CAD - 3D modeling, Assy, Technical Drafting. CREO Product Software
I. Desired professional experience in manufacturing engineering for the following processes.
a. Grinding (Centerless, OD).
b. Machining (CNC turning).
c. Metal forming.
d. Welding.
e. Surface treatments.
f. Heat treatment.
g. Leak testing and inspection.
