IT & Telecoms Category Manager
This is a hybrid (3/2) position based at Eaton House in Dublin, Ireland
The primary function of the IT & Telecoms Category Manager is to partner with our Corporate IT stakeholders to support the delivery of strategic objectives from both an SCM and Business perspective. This role is central to how we deliver innovation, operational resilience, and value through our IT supply base as part of the Global Indirect function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing enterprise IT category strategies, managing supplier relationships, driving cost optimisation and Working Capital improvement, and ensuring alignment with Eaton's digital transformation and business objectives.
This role will help to support IT stakeholders across various areas - specifically in relation to:
- Software (SaaS and On-Prem)
- Cloud
- Infrastructure
- IT Service Delivery
- Hardware
- Networks
What you'll do:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for IT and Telecoms (hardware, software, services, telco)
- Manage ~$350M global IT spend, aligning category strategy with business and tech roadmaps
- Lead supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and performance management
- Ensure contracts meet compliance, mitigate risk, and deliver long-term value
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, Legal, and business units to align procurement with enterprise goals
- Build strategic supplier partnerships to drive innovation and performance
- Identify cost savings and process improvements across IT & Communications spend
- Ensure governance, ethical standards, and supplier risk management
- Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to inform strategy
- Analyse sourcing data and maintain data accuracy across tools
- Support digital solution deployment (Microsoft apps, ServiceNow) within Indirect SCM

Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain, IT, Engineering or related field
- 5+ years in strategic sourcing/category management, with IT focus
- Deep knowledge of IT & Telecoms market and suppliers
- Strong SCM sourcing and supplier management expertise
- Skilled in negotiation and contract interpretation
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Effective problem-solving and multitasking across global projects
- Excellent communicator with influence across senior and cross-functional teams
- Confident presenter with strategic and operational clarity
- Strategic mindset with global perspective and planning skills
- Professional, collaborative leadership style
- Self-driven, thrives in fast-paced international settings
