HR Manager - Aerospace
For our Aerospace site in South Molton, we are looking for an HR Manager.
The site is part of our The Fuel and Motion Control Systems (FMC) which has three plants in the United Kingdom, one in Titchfield site, another in South Molton, and the third in Bedhampton.
South Molton has close to 500 employees, it commenced production in 1973 and in 1975 an investment casting foundry opened on the site. The Foundry is the only one of its kind across Eaton's Aerospace plants. Today the plant's core focus is the design, manufacture and test of Components primarily for the aerospace sector. At South Molton we design, manufacture and integrate products and technologies for Engine Solutions, Fuel and Inerting Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Motion Control, Cockpit Interface and Electrical Power Management.
In this role, you will lead and support the development and administration of HR plans and programs that enable the plant to achieve its strategic objectives. You'll play a key role in ensuring the effective use of Human Resources, aligning your work with the broader goals of the organization at both corporate and divisional levels.
This position requires a well-rounded understanding of core HR functions, including-but not limited to-employee and labor relations, compensation, performance management, talent acquisition, and workplace safety. Your ability to build relationships, foster a positive work environment, and drive meaningful change will be essential to your success.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with plant management to design and deliver HR strategies that meet evolving business needs.
- Develop and implement progressive HR solutions that support plant objectives and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Translate corporate HR practices into effective local operations.
- Facilitate clear and open communication across all levels of the organization.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure fairness and compliance.
- Lead employee training and development initiatives, including Supervisor FLEX training.
- Ensure a robust performance management process is in place and effectively utilized.
- Prepare pay settlements for local staff with accuracy and transparency.
- Manage the recruitment process for salaried roles, including organizational design, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Promote a safe and inclusive work environment through effective safety policies, affirmative action programs, and employee engagement events.
- Provide strategic HR guidance to site managers and supervisors, supporting them in decision-making and team development.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to develop and execute Organizational Capability plans, including follow-up on actions and development goals. Lead the Performance Management process for salaried and non-banded employees, ensuring goal-setting, reviews, and development plans are completed on time.
- Champion culture transformation through employee engagement surveys, encouraging full participation, analyzing results, and supporting managers in action planning.
- Advise leaders on employee relations and performance matters, promoting fair and ethical treatment.
- Act as an advocate for employees, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs addressed-from policies and benefits to career development.
- Contribute to site-wide initiatives, including Eaton Business System processes and other strategic projects.
- Serve as a member of the site leadership team, helping guide direction for growth and operational excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals.
- Ensure occupational health responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with site policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) in Human Resource Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong understanding of current legal trends and HR compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proven HR generalist experience within professional and dynamic environments.
- Proficiency in HR-related software and tools, including Microsoft Office; experience with HRMS systems.
