Within this segment, Eaton has an opening for a Global Principal BIM Engineer - Data Center Segment. The role defines, leads, and evolves Eaton's global Building Information Modelling (BIM) strategy to support growth, scalability, and operational excellence across the Data Centre Segment. The role provides global technical leadership for BIM standards, digital workflows, and governance, ensuring consistent, high-quality BIM execution across regions, functions, and major data center projects from early pursuit through delivery and handover.

What you'll do:

1) Strategic Development of BIM (Global)

Define and implement a long-term global BIM strategy that scales capability and capacity across regions and functions.
Partner with regional and global Business Units to expand BIM expertise, identify competency gaps, and define global training requirements.
Develop and govern BIM subject matter expertise (SME) areas relevant to data center design, delivery, and operations.
Collaborate with Product Development, Manufacturing, Application Engineering, and segment leadership to integrate cross-functional BIM capabilities globally.
Establish globally consistent BIM design standards, object libraries, and workflows to improve efficiency, safety, and scalability.

2) Digitalization & Optimization of BIM Processes

Lead the global digital transformation of BIM-related workflows to improve collaboration, integration, standardization, and automation.
Support regions and Business Units in scaling BIM capability through organizational profiling, talent development, and structured upskilling programs.
Identify, evaluate, and deploy advanced BIM tools and digital solutions aligned with the full data centre lifecycle.
Standardize BIM best practices across global design and engineering disciplines to ensure quality and repeatability.

3) Governance & Quality Assurance in Design Delivery

Provide strategic BIM leadership and technical oversight for major global pursuits and high-value data centre projects.
Establish and govern a global BIM framework aligned to Eaton standards, policies, and client expectations.
Review BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), contractual BIM requirements, and delivery documentation to ensure compliance, quality, and risk management.
Oversee end-to-end BIM implementation from proposal development through design, delivery, and final client handover.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of industry experience working with advanced experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.

  • Fluent in English with the ability to engage effectively with diverse global teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional programs spanning technology platforms, people processes, and business stakeholders.
  • Proven capability in program management, change management execution, and governance across global or matrixed organizations.
  • Lead clarification and resolution of complex technical, commercial, and execution issues.
  • Drive structured problem-solving and decision-making across functions.

  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global BIM strategy, standards, and object library development.

  • Self-directed with strong decision-making and problem-solving ability
  • Fluent in English with the ability to engage effectively with diverse global teams.
