What you'll do:
Job Summary
• Management and Supervision of Product Engineering Department roles for medium to large size designs of High Voltage equipment of Switchgear (Reclosers), Capacitor Banks, Cabinet Controls and Power Distribution products (PDO).
• This position is in charge to manage a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge, acting on problem solving related to the projects, products, materials, tests (routine and/or type), unique application projects and supplier interface as required.
• Responsible for development and application of advanced engineering techniques, concepts and customized approaches for a unique customer. Must manage office staff and engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity, and serve as a technical specialist, providing knowledge and expertise.
• Develops and manages action plans, coordinates and directs the engineering work aligned with the pipeline projects. This includes work assignments, staffing management, scheduling and review. Develops or evaluates plans/criteria or special analysis required in support of the engineering effort. Develops new or improve techniques and procedures for application in unique engineering. Coordinates the design of assigned systems projects with personnel and client management. Maintains engineering records, lists and reports as required to ensure compliance with the client's schedule, adherence to the budget, adherence to procurement specification, or to ensure engineering problems are monitored and resolved.
• Responsible to support plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining cost out initiatives across the organization, including, but not limited to, supplier base development and validation in conjunction with SCM leadership;
• Responsible for the management of the VAVE area, in order to drive projects that result in product parts and labor cost reduction, which focus on improving existing product lines and new designs. In addition to this position will be required to sustaining the project to ensure the correct implementation and achievement of goals. Providing smooth and effective implementation and plans for local operations, monitoring and reporting the savings post on VAVE execution
Job Responsibilities
ETO Engineering
• Manage all assigned design, development, and related technical tasks required to maintain cost, schedules and standards;
• Assume responsibility for appropriate testing and evaluation of products, parts, equipment, tools, and systems along with necessary corrective follow-up;
• Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services;
• Review and recommend technical comments on Sales Proposal. Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications;

• Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients;
• Set technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management;
• Direct the engineering, distribution projects and special projects involving cross-functional activities:
• Develop projects which may require the implementation of unique solutions;
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules incorporating resource management and milestone deliverables;
• Possess a working knowledge of all development/design related ISO procedures, local or international standard and work instructions;
• Support plant quality initiatives and support plant cost improvement objectives;
• Assist in the direction of support personnel for the assembly and testing of prototypes and models in clients;
• Direct, review, and approve product design and changes;
• Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence;
• Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department;
• Demonstrate project management and leadership capability, experience in coordinating/completing complex projects on-time.
• Contact (in English) the engineering centers in the US responsible for the product design and development to discuss about the engineering projects, designs, changes, products improvements, troubleshooters and etc.
VAVE / Supplier development
• Lead manufacturing issues with operations group at manufacturing facilities to implement VAVE projects;
• Lead new supplier development activities in conjunction with SCM leadership and buyers;
• Provide smooth and effective implementation and plans for local operations, monitoring and reporting the savings post on VAVE execution. This work includes support the supply chain analysis, actual cost BOM study, product parts localization and economic viability;
• Provide the team Identify opportunities and coordinate cost reduction project;
• Provide engineering design support for productivity improvement projects and parts localization;
• Ownership of overall project management for VAVE projects;
• Utilize PROLaunch (Six Sigma design) tollgate methodology to lead VAVE projects with cross functional teams at multiple sites with overall project timeline execution responsibilities;
• Manage day to day activities of sustaining engineering team to accomplish the goals and objective established by the project scope;
• Develop dFMEA and test plan documentation required for thorough product improvements/development."
Qualifications:
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Electric or Electronic Engineer.
• Solid experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or Project Management.
• Experience as a leader of people.
• Proven ability to manage multiple and complex projects, relationships and influence across organizational boundaries;
• Basic knowledge of products;
• Basic financial knowledge for capital plan (CAPEX), asset management, project management, budgeting and profit planning;
• Strong leadership skills;
• English (Advanced);
• SAP Database; Windows Office; Microsoft Project.
• Knowledge on new product development process and tools, such as DFMEA, PPAP, or similar.
• Ability to motivate, counsel, and constructively deal with people at all level;
• Ability to lead the organization on a continuous journey of sustained learning and improvement;
• Experience and ability in managing, training and developing personnel;
• High personal integrity, and strong commitment to ethical behavior;
• Strong committed to customer service and satisfaction;
Desirable
• Technical knowledge in the area of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, plant engineering, production and materials planning, and systems application;
• Knowledge of EBS, PROLaunch and Quality System;
• Experience with mechanical drawings, electrical circuits and panels.
