Furnace Operator - Melt -3rd Shift
Eaton's EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Furnace Operator - Melt -3rd Shift.
The hourly rate for this position is Hourly- $24.76 after 45 days $27.85 after 90 days $30.95 per hour.

What you'll do:
Eaton's Electrical Sector is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Furnace Operator - Melt to join our team. This position is based at our Amarillo, TX facility.
Position Overview:
The primary function of this role is to be responsible for the performance of the melt deck, pouring deck, and miscellaneous utility duties to ensure proper operation of metal casting in the foundry.

In this function you will:
• Perform various duties associated with furnace, Junker, auto pour, and metal operations as well as all other duties required to support mold production and reporting any issues to supervision

• Charge furnaces by use of overhead crane and regulate power supply for furnaces
• Perform temperature and chemical tests as required by a dip cup or lance and initiate any required action as well as pre-heat delivery ladles and operate pouring controls
• Perform a variety of duties to tear out, repair, re-line, and maintain electric furnaces, ladles, and pre-heaters involving use of jackhammer up to 90 pounds
• Manage Junker pouring controls and calculate ratios/percentages for additives
• Monitoring control panels and adjust accordingly
• Perform utility function as required to include application of 5-S program and area cleaning
• Perform and maintain various recordkeeping duties and recording instruments
• Perform other duties as assigned throughout the facility.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting
• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of (enter location) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred qualifications:
• Prior metal casting experience
Skills:
Position Criteria:
• Ability to stand and/or walk for 8-12 hours, work at varied heights, and to lift 50 pounds
• Understanding and ability to safely operate hand tools, including jack hammers
• Ability to follow all safety regulations associated
• Understand and utilize the procedures related to confined spaces and fall protection
• Ability to comprehend, follow, and perform moderately technical standards and maintenance procedures as well as apply basic math skills
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and schedules
• Forklift and frontend loader certified
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Ability to work around molten metal and in a production environment that is at times very hot or very cold, and subject to unexpected swings of overtime (ability to flex personal schedule to cover tasks on other shifts - frequent weekends and holidays)
• Ability to work proactively and communicate effectively while working with all employees throughout plant and under limited supervision
• Ability to perform basic computer functions: eSafety, MESH Prism
