Fabrication Technician - Powder Coat, Weekend Shift

Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Fabrication Technician - Powder Coat, Weekend Shift.

The rate for this position is $18.11 per hour. The hours are Friday through Sunday from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. This role includes a weekend shift premium, providing 40 hours of pay for a 36-hour schedule.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

In the Fabrication Technician - Powder Coat role, you will be responsible for loading and unloading materials onto the powder-coat line. You may also operate the powder-coat booth to apply powder coatings according to customer specifications, inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality and customer requirements, and consistently uphold high standards to achieve production and quality goals.

  • Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work environment by following all safety policies, wearing required personal protective equipment, operating equipment properly, and completing 5S tasks.
  • Use travel documents, blueprints, and written or verbal instructions to load, unload, set up, and operate the powder-coat line.
  • Maintain the expected workflow and progress of assigned jobs, communicating any concerns as needed.
  • Proactively identify process-improvement opportunities and perform root-cause analysis to resolve issues related to quality or production.
  • Ensure product quality by measuring finished parts using a tape measure and/or calipers, visually inspecting materials, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Cross-train and provide coverage for other team members or functions as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

Preferred:

  • Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams, drawings, or operating instructions.
  • Experience using measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Experience working with Eaton systems, including DMM and AS400.

Position Criteria:

  • Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as business needs require.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble products and verify quality in a Lean environment

Additional Information:

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands for handling and feeling.
  • Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull 50 lbs. or more with or without accommodation
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.

  • Regular exposure to noise and frequent exposure to dust while performing job duties
