Enterprise Architect - Enabling Functions

At Eaton, we are transforming how technology enables business outcomes. We are seeking an experienced Business Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team. This role brings deep expertise in business processes, enterprise architecture, and IT strategy, and partners closely with senior leaders to shape and deliver strategic outcomes across Enabling Functions (Finance, HR, Legal, and related functions).

The Business Architect plays a critical enterprise role in defining architecture strategy, aligning technology investments to business priorities, and ensuring enterprise consistency across platforms and solutions. This position provides architectural leadership, governance, and frameworks that guide the design, deployment, and operation of strategic IT programs.

This is an enterprise focused role responsible for establishing and maintaining architecture frameworks that support enterprise strategies and solutions. As part of the Enterprise Architecture team, the Business Architect defines standards, guidelines, architecture patterns, and reusable assets to improve delivery speed, consistency, and risk management across Eaton's IT landscape.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $165000 - $242000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

Enterprise Architecture & Strategy
• Define future state technology portfolios and guide IT investment planning
• Partner with senior Enabling Function leaders to translate business strategies into architectural direction and capability roadmaps
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies within current Eaton environments
• Ensure alignment to enterprise data, infrastructure, and application strategies ("True North")
Solution Architecture & Delivery Enablement
• Lead solution architecture efforts to ensure technical alignment and delivery success
• Define application, data, and infrastructure architectures for next generation Enabling Function solutions
• Provide architectural guidance throughout implementation to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, high performing, and compliant with enterprise standards
• Maintain accountability for solution performance, availability, quality, and capacity
Federated Architecture Leadership
• Lead and coordinate the federated architecture practice across Centers of Excellence (COEs)
• Recommend strategic architecture directions, guardrails, and investment priorities
• Develop and govern enterprise architecture policies, standards, and patterns using industry best practices
• Serve as mentor and coach to architects across the enterprise
• Promote consistent architecture methodologies, tools, and behaviors across IT
• Review technology roadmap changes and ensure alignment with guiding principles
• Lead or participate in the Strategic Architecture Forum and Architecture Review Board (ARB)
Enabling Functions Focus
• Provide dedicated architecture leadership for Enabling Functions (Finance, HR, Legal, etc.) and supporting IT product teams
• Lead capability based planning efforts to define current and future organizational capabilities
• Build and maintain reference architectures to accelerate delivery and improve decision making
• Establish standards and guidelines that increase delivery speed while maintaining architectural integrity

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• 8 years of IT experience
• 5 years of experience in IT architecture (solution and/or systems architecture)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
• Deep understanding of Enabling Function business processes and capabilities (Finance, HR, Legal)
• Demonstrated success aligning business strategy with architecture frameworks and execution
• Strong knowledge of ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle EBS)
• Experience with data integration, interoperability, and event driven architectures
• Expertise in enterprise application architecture, including design, optimization, and global deployment
