Engineering Technician
Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Engineering Technician.
The hourly rate for this position is $30.12 per hour with scheduled pay increases at 6 months and 1 year of service. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 10:30 pm until 7:00 am.

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

What you'll do:
The Engineering Technician supports engineers in executing manufacturing projects to achieve successful outcomes. This role contributes to process development, equipment installation, and continuous improvement efforts that align with business goals and exceed customer expectations. The technician is also expected to serve as a process expert, assisting maintenance with troubleshooting production issues and ensuring optimal equipment performance.
- Support development of new processes and participate in PROLaunch projects as needed
- Assist with capital equipment installation, including design validation, run-offs, trials, and documentation
- Collaborate with engineers to conduct root cause and failure analysis using methodologies such as 8D and A3
- Support maintenance in troubleshooting and resolving equipment breakdowns impacting production
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to drive cost savings (e.g., vision system updates, machine design improvements)
- Perform capability studies and drive A3 projects to improve machine uptime and efficiency
- Develop proficiency across all production cells; troubleshoot mechanical, automation, and vision system issues
- Create and maintain work instructions and SOPs as required
- Provide process and technical leadership across the assigned production area (e.g., clutch area)
Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):
- Lift or carry parts up to approximately 25 pounds
- Handle fixtures or equipment up to approximately 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the workday
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of manufacturing experience.
- Willing to work any shift as required to support operations.
- Relocation is not provided for this position. Candidates must live within a fifty-mile radius of the Kings Mountain facility.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor/associate degree and or willingness to obtain degree.
- Broad manufacturing knowledge including lean principles
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Efficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Oracle
- Knowledge of lean tools
- Blueprint interpretation skills
- Gauging experience.
