Engineering Manager - Operational Excellence
What you'll do:
"The Engineering Functional Excellence (EFE) organization is aligned with the CTO's strategy to accelerate innovation and organic growth. EFE is working to optimize and standardize processes, using best-in-class tools, and collaborating globally across functions to achieve the aspirational goal of 2X throughput. The EFE organization defines and deploys the right capability, governance, processes, systems and tools across the end-to-end Engineering and Product Development Lifecycle to drive efficient and effective execution.
This role leads the EFE OPEX team in Pune with a primary focus on people and talent development, team operating model, and overall OPEX communication and engagement with engineering stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement and light automation of internal EFE processes (e.g., OPEX governance, PROLaunch enablement, Innovation/DFSS/CI support mechanisms, internal assessments, knowledge management), leveraging Microsoft platforms (Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps, Azure) in partnership with Digital/IT. The role guides teams and ensures alignment and adoption.

Success Measures:
• People: Engagement scores, development plan completion, retention of specialists/expert track.
• Operations: On time cadence adherence, intake-to-decision cycle time, backlog aging, RACI clarity survey.
• Communication: Readership/engagement, stakeholder satisfaction (CSAT), feedback closure rate.
• Process/Automation: Number of internal workflows standardized/automated, reduction in manual effort, audit/quality score.
• Impact Reporting: Accuracy and timeliness of KPI dashboards; exec adoption of insights."
"Key Responsibilities:
People & Talent Development
• Build a high performance, inclusive culture; coach and mentor team members on growth plans and specialist/expert tracks.
• Facilitate competency development (process excellence, digital fluency) and succession pathways.
Team Operating Model
• Clarify roles and RACI across all EFE OPEX initiatives.
• Ensure smooth OPEX cadence (i.e., clear weekly priorities and deliverables set for each workstreams aligned with initiatives milestones).
• Ensure close collaboration between different EFE OPEX and other EFE initiatives when needed
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
• Own overall EFE OPEX communication (newsletters, town halls, SharePoint/Teams hub); ensure clear, consistent messaging, in cooridnation with other EFE teams
• Engage engineering stakeholders to align expectations, collect feedback, and strengthen engagement and adoption-without owning technical content.
Internal EFE Process Improvement & Automation (non business)
• Map, standardize, and continuously improve internal EFE OPEX processes: Initiatives operating model, reporting, Governing bodies access and documentation, etc
• Implement light automation of internal workflows using Copilot Studio, Power Automate and Power Apps.
• Maintain internal process documentation, playbooks, and self service guides.
KPI Tracking & Impact Reporting
• Define with team and manage the OPEX Initiatives KPI set to demonstrate OPEX team impact
• Produce executive dashboards and monthly/quarterly impact summaries; drive data informed improvements."
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (or related field).
"• 15+ years in engineering environments with demonstrated people leadership, operations management, and continuous improvement.
Skills:
• Experience in improving and automating internal organizational processes and running communication programs.
• Experience in managing projects as a project/program manager
• Familiarity with digital transformation in engineering contexts.
