Engineering Manager - Industry 4.0
What you'll do:
The Engineering Manager role will lead a cross-functional team covering advanced manufacturing technologies such as Industrial Automation, Digital Twin, along with support towards Re-industrialization. The role owns strategy, governance, deployment excellence, and technical leadership for Eaton's Industry 4.0 roadmap while simultaneously supporting Operating for Growth (OFG) initiatives in focus plants as personal goal. The leader owns and ensures flawless execution of automation programs, digital manufacturing systems, industrialization of new products, and transformation of existing plants to deliver productivity, quality, and schedule stability.
"1. Industry 4.0 Leadership & Strategy
• Define and execute Industry 4.0 roadmap across plants covering automation, digital twin, MES/IIoT integration, and PHM/asset health systems.

• Govern architecture standards for robotics, PLC/motion, MES data models, digital work instructions, and predictive systems.
• Build capability through an Industry 4.0 Lab ecosystem-platform evaluation, demos, templates, and training.
2. Team Leadership & Technical Governance
• Lead and grow a team of talented engineers to build strong pipeline in focus areas (Automation, Digital Twin, Quality solutions).
• Establish templates, standards, commissioning playbooks, and governance for scalable deployments.
• Review/approve control architectures, cell/line designs, simulation/OLP validations, and MES state models.
3. Support for Re-industrialization Excellence (OFG)
• Ensure charter definition for Hi5 Improvements with focused plants specifically with electrical ETO - Oversee PTR/PPAP readiness, process design validation, tooling/fixture development, and stabilization of product lines.
• Drive re-layout, flow optimization, simulation-based improvements, capacity unlock, and Hi5 metric improvements (CONC, OTD, DOH, Flex Productivity, TRCR).
• Ensure ERP/MES/SIOP integration and traceability frameworks.
4. Automation & Digital Execution
• Provide leadership for robotics, PLC/motion, industrial networks, vision/AI, digital inspection, and automated EOL testing.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and scalable automation systems deployed
• Oversee OEE/FPY/SPC dashboards, historian systems, and IIoT data flows (OPC-UA, MQTT, Kafka).
5. Program/Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement
• Manage roadmaps, budgets, vendor governance, project tracking, and plant deployment cadence.
• Enable cross-functional alignment with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, IT/OT, and product engineering.
• Deliver quantifiable business impact, ensuring risk mitigation and sustainability of improvements."
Qualifications:
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering (or related) with 10+ years of relevant experience
Skills:
"• Proven leadership of engineering / manufacturing teams with relevant background / projects
• Hands-on understanding of Industry 4.0 systems, MES/MOM, robotics, automation, simulation/OLP, and digital twin technologies
• Working experience in industrialization, plant transformation, and productivity improvement programs
• Strong understanding of robotics, PLC/motion controls, industrial networks, machine vision, and digital work instructions.
• Knowledge of digital twin frameworks, PHM, simulation, plant modeling, MES/ERP integration, and IIoT platforms.
• Industrialization background: process design, PPAP/PTR, tooling/fixtures/test systems, plant layout, lean/CI, VSM/MTM/MOST.
• Familiarity with safety, compliance, cybersecurity basics (IEC 62443), and automation standards."
