Engineering Manager - EMobility, Cost out, Program Management, OPEX

At Eaton India Innovation Center, is looking for a Engineering Manager - EMobility, Cost out, PM, OPEX to join our team in Pune.

Job Summary:

The incumbent will assume the role of Engineering Manager for a) global engineering on eMobility EPC product line b) eMobility Cost out & OPEX & c) eMobility Program Management within eMobility business. Geographic regions include - North America, Europe & Asia for all work areas listed.

This position is responsible for providing Engineering Leadership to Product portfolio of Connectors, Heritage, Busbars. In addition to that this position will also be responsible for leading overall cost out portfolio and Program management function within eMobility. EPC portfolio is at a critical juncture. It has a newly developed 4P connector for data centre space. The design needs to be now matured as per Meta & NVidia specs, along with localization manufacturing plan to compete with likes of market giants like Amphenol. Additional d) global engineering for eMobility PD&P product line responsibility (44HC) is being appended. PD&P product line is a complex portfolio & potential customer for EPC product line. Business prospects endorse combining the 2 product lines to guide engineering design work. In addition, a global component strategy needs to be developed for the PD&P portfolio (fuses & breaktors) along with Manufacturing localization plan (Eaton Pondicherry plant or Ranjangaon Pune plant or Contract Manufacturing)

This role will combine intertwining workstreams of Product design, Cost out, PM & SCM/Mfg - thus enabling astute focus on design quality & cost competitiveness.

What you'll do:

  • Provide Engineering leadership for New Technology Development/ Advance Engineering, Pursuit, New Production Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining Engineering for Power connection & PD&P productline which includes - LV&HV Terminals & Connectors, Heritage - Stamped battery terminals & Eyelets and Busbars, BDU, PDU, breaktor, fuses
  • Provide Portfolio leadership for eMobility cost out, OPEX for 3 Product lines within eMobility - Power Connection, PD&P and LVPC thru Strategic Value analysis, Ideation and implementing cost out ideas thru VA PROLaunch Process along with global cross functional team.
  • Lead Program Management function for eMobility and Flawlessly execute the NPI & VA programs by closely working with business functions. Use manufacturing & scm experience/exposure to progress programs with needed product quality & cost competitiveness.
  • Provide transformational leadership , supervision , coaching & mentorship to senior talents which includes - Engineering Managers , Lead Engineers, Program Managers and Portfolio/ product strategy managers.
  • Proven Track record of managing & developing 40+ strong team with engineering, Cost out and program management function.
  • In depth experience in engineering / R&D domain, demonstrated accountability & ownership in growing the portfolio, demonstrated persistence to achieve business goals.
  • Candidate must have experience in developing strong customer / stakeholder relations, understanding market needs and driving customer centric solution by working with technical experts.
  • Promote and maintain a professional work environment, drive analysis first culture and DfX deployment for flawless execution. Maintain effective communication both verbal & written with customers/ Stakeholders & within team.
  • Drive business critical New Product Development programs and ensure flawless launch through Eaton PROLaunch.
  • Collaborate with Global Engineering, SCM , Manufacturing and Finance team to drive the eMobility cost out through Strategic value analysis and VA PROLaunch
  • Attract, develop and retain organizational and technical leadership talents, Coach and motivate to achieve their professional goals and review their accomplishments
  • Drive the culture of boundaryless teamwork and leadership . Influence in uncertain situations with effective decision making.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Mechanical/Electrical /Electronic/Production engineering with proven track record in providing leadership in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • 18+ years of industry experience in multinational organization with demonstrated ability to influence global and cross functional organization.
  • Experience working in global environment (North America / Europe/APAC) for 5+ years preferred. International work experience will be an enabler.
  • Product design experience, Cost out, Program Management, SCM & Mfg exposure/experience

Technical knowledge:

  • In depth, understanding of Market and Regulatory trends in Vehicle/ Power Electronics /Data Center domain would be an added advantage.
  • Expertise in handling New Product & Technology Development leveraging stage gate approach
  • Experience in practicing Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DfM&A)
  • Experience/exposure in manufacturing engineering & supply management streams (supplier selection, technical assessments, process audits) will be preferred

Skills:
